Okay, I don't get the "Jill" joke, nor do I get why Grape got upset when she found out Peanut really was going. So far I'm not impressed with kitten Grape, even if she was a stray or whatever....

But I do like the fact that so far this is consistent with what we know already.

Both Jill's name and the alt text are memes from the original Resident evil. I don't get how either of them are funny in the original game, but they seem to be popular.

Watch the links Zukio posted for the jokes. Grape is upset because she didn't actually want Peanut to leave. She was lying, and is actually very lonely and knows she is going to miss talking to Peanut even if he annoyed her.

Resident Evil (the very first one) was the first game outside of Japan that at the time was defined as the very first Survival horror videogame that hit mainstream gaming. Considering the Playstation and PC series of games at the time was starting to get into voice acting and used live actors for their CGI, you'd be surprised how awful, corny and yet lovable some of the acting at that time was.

The game at it's core was very popular story-wise (Zombies and mansions were a very popular horror theme back then.) and while not exactly loved for it's acting, it was for it's humorous B-Theater feeling it tried to convey. The whole "Master of Unlocking" and "Jill Sandwich" was just so funny at time it eventually felt good, probably because some people are familiar with it.
