Wow, first for the first time.

Also, Max, I'm not sure using a chisel will be the best option. It will hurt. A lot.

Grape just really likes messing with the guy, jeez. Heck, it might be best for his mental health if he just dumps her at this point.

I love dual storylines like this, I look forward to seeing genderbent hijinks and a failed workout montage

Lol, does Grape actually have that fake goatee on purpose? She actually looks like a male cat now. I find it funny.

Max seems to always get the short end of the stick, poor guy.

Oh, and nice nod to the Road Rovers, Rick!

Hah! Road Rovers! That show was awesome! Too bad it was cancelled because of a mere banana-shaped squeaky toy :P

Grape might want to check on Max more often. Recent events kinda shows that he needs a bit more baby sitting than most pets. XD

Grape looks like a painter. *bricked*

Awww, so it is getting to him afterall. Poor Grape doesn't realize how much frustration she's putting on him. =(

Well, at least now we know Maxwell isn't proud enough to beg the K-9 unit to help him out. However, something tells me that Grape will easily get him off of that once she gets back. Though what could Maxwell accomplish in one week? =P

Personally, I always wondered the ideas of a regular cat working out with the dogs. I just think it's funny because I could only picture Maxwell working out with them if somehow they allowed cats on the K-9 team. Which I doubt could happen. o_O

All that from last arc and now this? Max may not be the best of guys, but Grape does not seem to be ready for relationships, apparently clueless about how her actions affect Max's feelings.

Ok Max I´m gonna give you some advices for your first time on the gym based on personal experiences:

It´s going to hurt while you´re at it
It´s going to hurt after you´re done
And don´t feel bad of yourself if you cant lift the weight of a certain machine even though it is almost at its minimun weight ...

Good luck !!!

Yeah, he definitely seems of fragile constitution. And I don't think working out with Kevin will help his self-esteem.

Oh, Grape, don't you realize your boyfriend has self-esteem issues?

Also, I barely remember the Road Rovers, so thanks for reminding me to look up episodes, everyone.

Max has never on record been majorly accepted by anyone, or into any group, no matter what he's done. Romantic relationships are supposed to be a place of mutual support, but what Max has is a ride on an emotional yo-yo. After Gallifrax I was much more able to empathize with him, so this arc is really getting interesting. Half the ships we have here have their float/sink possibilities in jeopardy, I am savoring the anticipation of their results. Poor, fascinating guys!

Poor Max, there's no way he'd have the patience for that much working out! And holy crud, Grape can really pull off the boy look (not that it's that surprising~)! *^*

To get over Grapes' dirty, dark, dreams
Max wants to be more than he seems.
There's a moment where he falls in 'prayer'
and, with a coy grin, Kevin's right there.
The master of the Macho manipulators
Kevin's not one of lifes' cat-haters
although he plans to put Max through hell
to make his chest grow and biceps swell
to impress the pressed and thoughtless
Grape. The girl who must confess
to not thinking of him with Jata in sight.
She doesn't know how he feels this night
She's focused on the Prideland dream,
a fact that sure made 'her' Max scream...

He has to make him socially un-accepted to most of his own kind to the point where he is slightly mentally unstable?
also, Grape... it's only been what; a week or so, and you've already forgotten why Max was so upset in the Galafrax dimension!
That ship just keeps rocking doesn't it? :)

No Grape. Max won't be worried at all. The cat who just told you he doesn't feel like he's good enough for you. Nope.
Yup, same thought.
You know, I'm really starting to like her less and less each passing strip. Seriously, Max deserves someone better. D:<

On another note ~ I really like all the detail of Max in the second panel, especially the head fur and the face. I just think his feet somehow look tiny. X3

Awww, don't say that! Yes, Grape is being ignorant, but we know she means well. She just doesn't realize it.

It's "Road Rovers - I want you!"
And it appears to be 'Blitz' in that picture?

I want YOU for the ROAD ROVERS.
Road Rovers was a fantastic show of the 90s, produced by Warner Bros, featuring a team of six dogs from around the world. Said dogs (Blitz the German Doberman, Hunter the American Retriever, teamleader, Colleen the British Collie, Shag the Bobtail the Russian Husky Exile and CRAZY rottweiler Muzzle) even if spending most of their lives as regular pets, when called to duty to fight against crime they were turned into 'canosapiens', anthro dogs with neat uniforms like the one in the poster. (note: CRAZY Muzzle was the only who never got to be transformed because of his rooted insanity. He was always showed all tied up like Hannibal Lecter, only with a happy, enthusiast way of acting -talking was out of the way, Muzzle never spoke beyond barks and grunts. Also, Muzzle was the Rovers' secret weapon. When unleashed against the enmy, he'd make mincemeats of them and their vehicles)
The show featured other canosapiens under the RR organization, but it was this team the main stars. You can still find their adventures on Youtube. It was a great show, but eventually it got canceled :(

I have the feeling that Kevin is going to enjoy watching Max go through all that pain and soreness in his first ever body building at the gym. XD

Funnily enough I've just come from the gym. It was the first time I'd been in oh, about 8 years. And every word of that is true! *glares at guy on the next machine lifting all 20 of the weights*

Also: ROAD ROVERS!!!!! That was a great show! Even though I never saw it as a kd, I did recently discover it on youtube and I thought it was hilarious!

I wonder if in the HP! Universe "Road Rovers" is a live action show? If it is, that might open the possibility of Joey starting and/or attending a RR convention, complete with the now going on 20 year older "actors" who played Hunter, Colleen and the rest. Rick could age the character models sufficiently enough to create Lawyer Friendly Cameos , and just refer to the show itself as "RR" or have a running joke of people being interrupted (or their speech balloons covered mid sentence) any time they mention the name of the show, much like he did on the poster here.
