Title Text: For those of you who are only familiar with Japanese media, replace the final panel with: ACHOO! *sniff*

Jata's a sweet guy, to care about everyone like that. :3

As much as I like Keenes character, I can't help but imagine him being on the receiving end of someone's anger over his plans.

Well this is clearly a plot by Pete then, because its the only way this whole thing makes any sort of sense. I think someone called this earlier in the arc. Also its still a pretty bad and desperate plan.

The Hearts are just funny
But man, I'm surprised that it seems that Keene has something to do with it.
Meh. Does everything have to do with the game?

Keene's ears are gonna catch on fire at this rate!
Hard to tell if it's really about the game or Keene's own intentions.

well, unless Keene contacted Jata in the first place it wasn't about the game until Keene tried to use it to his advantage.

Gosh dang it Keene!...
You should have picked up lotion before their date!
Seriously though, is he doing this for Pete or some weird business thing?

Keene does have his own personal goal, separate from what Pete actually wants. So I think this is more of just Keene's doing.

Concord is paralyzed!
It can't move!

That doesn't make sense because this is not something you would ever do, and heck I'm 99.9% sure he couldn't anyway. You can not just offer up a third party for marriage (family would be the exception to this, in other countries because I'm almost positive you can't force family to do that in the US) or anything for that matter, in a contract.

If this is part of Pete's plan then we should be seeing King here shortly. It would be nice to see how him and bailey geting along. :)

It's interesting to note that Fido could've avoided this if his relationship was open knowledge to everyone. I'm betting Keene figured since Sabrina was free that Jata could just hook them up and have them get married for business reasons. Keene, however, is making a characteristic these days to not take into personal matter what everyone thinks. =P

And it's like GeckoZY said ~ i'm sure this is all Keene's own doing.

What's this!? Keene's ferret senses are tingling? But seeing as how "oblivious" he appears to be at this moment, I'm in favor of the side saying that this is all Keene's doing. Maybe we're all just over thinking about this... maybe?

On a side note, it's funny how Rick subtly added Concord in this strip.
Also... I'm not entirely sure what the alt text was supposed to mean. *puts head down in shame*

Not unless you are a really rich ferret with a goal of finishing your father's work! I think he has enough drive to do that, he did make a deal with the... err... gryphon, right?

Next time on Housepets: Off the Napping couch. Keene ~ distributor of water... of mass destruction? or a man that wishes peace and happiness all over the world?

Keene: *In an interview* Personally? I really loathed the thought of being a Bard. *winks at the camera with his fingers* Surprise, Sabrina!

 Maybe Keene has an issue with anyone that use an ouija board to indicate bold text. Failing the aloe lotion, his burning ears might be a good use of that aspirin factory.

Keene's motives at this point are not entirely clear, but his general motivation is for species equalization, to his reason(s) for doing what he has can probably be traced back to that, via the game and/or otherwise. The path(s) back to there may be simple, or enjoyably convoluted, after all, he does incite turf wars just to order breakfast.

It would be hilarious if that was why he set this up!

Ho ho! At this pace we'll have two weddings in the same comic book!

Now I don't want to settle the paranoia so I'm not gonna make any weird theory. Instead I just gonna leave my thoughts about this strip:

I think the whole thing of the wedding is just part of Keene's plans to reach the equality. However, I think Pete is somehow involved since Keene has no other way to learn something so intimate of Sabrina's past. My guess is that the only goal that Pete aims is to separate Sabrina from Fido and/or Tarot.

Excellent points. Assuming that much, Pete could be using this as a way to separate Dragon from her backup avatar. Given that this is at the same time as her bond to her current one is weakened, this could giving Pete a tactical advantage in their duel for a potentially large period of time, maybe even through the Anniversary Ultimatum.

Yes, but its brain wasn't paying attention. Given reboot time, it may see it now.

Like the "ears burning" myth here in America (and maybe other parts of the world), the Japanese have a similar myth; their version is basically saying that when you sneeze, someone somewhere in the world is talking about you.

That would be me : )

I'm still thinking that this is Pete as Jata who probably appeared earlier to the real Jata as Sabrina setting it up from that end, making Jata think that reviving their love pledge is her idea.

Actually it seems that Jata used attract, judging by what I can see in the distance.
"Concord is immobilized by love!"
And oh dear, Keene better hide behind Miles before they reach him and before Karishad can show up and cause even more mess.

Jata does realize that n order to get Sabrina to leave the country (and Fido) he'll have to tranc her then bind her and carry her on his back, good luck Jata you'll need it

I think the table fell in love with Jata as well.

And speaking of marriage, I wonder how King and Bailey are doing.

I'm 'Keene' on this turn of events.

They've forgotten I'm playing, these others,
because I haven't been seen to make a move.
They forgot my weapon is my business brain
and, in that regard, I have little to prove.
I want pets and men as equals; I truly do
but I'm not going to force the idiots to issue
orders, instead I encourage and cajole
and let the wisdom of its own shine through.
I let King stay here, don't I? I let him marry -
Heh, I was a good priest, it has to be said.
Preaching Pete's message of equality on TeeVee.
Now, though, Sabrina stood in my noble way,
the 'Black knight' of the oppositions' side.
But she's my foe and not my enemy so I look
to her past for distraction and there he stands;
Jata the magnificent becomes my side's rook,
striking from afar. Hearts' castle lands
a bitter physical blow. Either she'll now go
or the Court case for equality stands
to prove our point. Either way... I win.

Now, the question here is why is Keene doing this and what does he win with this ? A lot Some of you say that is because of The Game ... It may sound like the logic answer, but is it ?

There is no such thing as a reverse Japanese wanna-be, since Japanese people cannot be Japanese "wanna-bes". If anything, they are Japanese disidents.
