Whelp time to watch Fido get beat to heck and back. Seriously though I bet Sabrina is going to step into the middle of the fight to stop it and maybe get thrown into the pool.

My sentiments exactly. This arc keeps getting better and better! This may be the most epic fight since Spirit Dragon vs snowstorm giant. Probably even more epic.

Attaway, Fido! Show that Jata jerk what's what! I bet he's all talk and no walk... all muscle and no moves... and... whatever other witty saying I can think of that means the same thing.

Or... if you must lose, do it with style! Moral victories are good too :P

Sorry to disappoint you all, but Rick's computer is probably going to squeeee so hard from the foreknowledge of Monday's comic that's that it's going to make us wait for a week...like when Bino lost his collar. Then we'll all be stuck with a cheesy re-enactment.

STOP THROWIN' STUFF AT ME!

Seriously, though, since HP is PG, does anyone (by show of hands/paws/fins/misc.) think we'll actually see a violent fight? Yes, fights happen in PG, but they're so much like *cough cough* power rangers that they're almost not even worth thinking about, let alone watching. Not to rock the boat too much, but I wouldn't expect Dragon Ball Z kind of fighting. I suspect that Jata probably doesn't even know how to fight. He's probably so used to people, dogs, cats, (anything that gets in his way) panicking at the sight of his muscles that he wouldn't even know what to do if someone actually accepted his challenge.

By the way, is anyone else finding themselves reading and re-reading the strip over and over, hoping to squeeze more enjoyment out of what's already been like a full sponge?

And of course it will not be that violent! This is a PG comic, so don't be expecting blood spilling.

The time for truth steps boldly ahead,
standing fast among the calmest dead.
It challenges preconceptions and belief
and lays open victory to glorious grief.

All fear is gone from the mighty Fido
and cool descends beside Keenes' lido
as he prepares to battle Jata the bully
and exposes his love for Sabrina fully.

Even now the leopard doesn't listen,
too full of himself and his coalition.
And now? Combat live on this station
as one beats the other across the nation.

The mean exposure across Fido's eye
says he'll do damage to this feline guy.
(unless Jata's joking, giving up the fight
then, for the couple, things will be all right)

Seems Jata's not going to burst out of this suit like before, not a wedding thing? He seems to be from a definitely different culture thought of as on the opposite side of the spectrum from 'American', with shame as more prevalent like in many older traditions.

I admit, part of me so hopes that Grape has a biological brother that is legitimately named Concord, or eventually has reason to masquerade as him again, it is a good look for her.

Even before reading the alt-text, I thought Jata had suddenly begun to speak in the stereotypical Russian accent, Why is he speaking like that all of a sudden?

Don't know, Rick tends to make unexpected twists when nobody thinks someone would do them.

Paw-er Rangers? Will he spew sparks instead of blood whenever he gets hit, too? : P

Wow, things are getting seriously intense. I'm really psyched.

Also, epic battle music? Hmm, I've got a varied assortment here...let's see now. Ooh, this one's really nice. Here's a personal fave. Vocals are a bit scratchy but the music kinda fits. And this one is...well...I like it.

But man, this is going to be amazing. And the fact that I have to wait an entire weekend is making me sad. >:

Truthfully they both have fighting experince, but I have a guess Fido is going to win this thing. Since when it comes to battle, to gain victory one must have wits and skill. Sometimes brawn helps, but honestly there are ways to take down those bigger then yourself. So go Fido go! You can beat the giant kitty cat.
