One of his best - and most totally ridiculous - stage directions.

Number seven and number eight,
standing there in conference
and discussing their upcoming fate.
Where'd he get those cans from?
The mighty Fido has worked it out -
this means he's got the reference
so he's next without a doubt
and soon dispatched with aplomb.
On an island with just a house
a Bear is loosed on the residence
and stalks them all, their fears arouse
as it stalks just one and has some fun...
Four furry Indians, as scared as scared can be;
One hit a teddy trap and then there were three.

Wow, that care bear stare really does do something

I'll say that when I read the book, after hearing the poem, as soon as I read a single thing to do with a bear, I figured that that was going to be used to kill the 8th one. Spoiler in the spoiler, it was.

One of the worst things you can do in these situations is confess to knowing what's really going on, that either makes you the killer or soon to die. Sometimes you can live longer, but then nobody can know that you know something until everyone knows that, and what the something actually is, but to work that requires a larger group that aren't the killer(s).

I did wonder at first whether Fido would want to be part of this, but it makes sense since Sabrina is part of the troupe, and with their relationship out, I suspect that he has found Peanut one of the few dogs who wouldn't care about it. Indeed, Peanut would understand his feelings all too well.

Someone needs to draw a friendship tree of all the characters of HS, starting with Grape and Peanut. I think it would be incredibly interesting to see all the convoluted relationships graphically.

You'd have to start with Fido and the Good old dogs club... but then there's the grape arc...

Too bad this didn't come out on Last Friday, Death by Care Bear would have been ironic happening on Valentine Day. Although judging from the bear's expression I guess it's a Don't Care Bear.

"No time to explain" ?

Gasp! He must be in a hurry...to arrange Fido's murder!

So Peanut's the killer! Rite?
On second thoughts, Peanut probably isn't. Murder mysteries are NEVER that straightforward. :?

That is an interesting idea, but it had better be easy to edit, because it'll change often. We still don't know what all the fallout will be from Fido's revelation - is he still top GO Dog?

(SmileWolf looks pensive, tapping a blunt-clawed fingertip on his furry chin, until a smile slowly crawls across his face.). Or, we can make a forum game of it...

EDIT: The Character Relationship Game, now in the Forum Games area. Thanks to Phlosioneer for inspiring the idea.

Fido should be grateful this isn't a low budget Imaginate. In the low budget version the "bear" is just a beanbag with baer bear written on it.

King and Peanut have met (Though Peanut greeting him as "Hey new dog.." at the time). Apparently they got to know each other afterward as he (along with Grape) got an invitation to the wedding. And Bailey is in this thread (or was, as she was a early victim). And if Bailey is in the party... King could play a Truman Capote-esque role at the very end (yes, I am mixing murder movie references, but you get my point...). I mean, Truman Capote and King are both short little guys, right? :D

Fido deserved it, he spoilert his own Death.
Actually I would like to see how King or Ralph would act in an Imaginate Arc since the both of them are the most mature guys.....it would be funny. Maybe Ralph is more childish as we think.

Indeed, the figure saw on the beach by Peanut was the doctor, who's now lying dead... Right, the judge's death is the less clear so far, guess why. ;) Watch out, Fido, now it's you who's going to die because of a bear, just a slightly different kind of it. :P

Please use spoilers next time if you are revealing much.

I think you're thinking of Joey. The only time I think King and Peanut have been in the same strip is the Dogs Playing Poker one. I get the feeling the wedding was just "Keene invited all the pets in the neighborhood", King is scared of the K9 unit and I doubt he'd think to invite them. Yeltsin is there and he and Boris are Bino's goons. So not friends just "all our neighbors" and some like Bino probably declined to go. I would like to see King hang out with more people!

I'm actually surprised Fido and Bailey are doing so well without breaking character, since they're new to Imaginating.
Yup yer right, my mistake, that was Joey. The only time they were in the same strip before the poker one was the strip where King and Pete astral jump into Babylon Gardens, and thats a segue strip - they weren't together in the same place. That actually seemed to mark the shift away from Grape & Peanut as central characters and towards King (with Pete and later Bailey).

For the Bard-beareft (* ahem *) or the Shakespeare deprived, Exit, pursued by a bear is the stage direction that indicates the demise of Antigonus in Act III, Scene 3 of A Winters Tale.

Actually, the first thing I thought of was Edward Gorey's The Gashlycrumb Tinies: "B is for BASIL assaulted by bears."

Now that I think of it, the arc with King getting drunk at the party almost seems like a poorly disguised spinoff pilot for a King/Tarot spinoff, with Grape filling the role of original show star cameo, popping up for the one scene in which King unknowingly tells her he has an interest in her brother's girlfriend, (talk about awkward first impressions), much like a one scene shot of one of The Golden Girls popping up at the beginning of the Empty Nest pilot, and then disappearing for the rest of the story.
