What is your opinion of doomwyte? I never finished that one.

I liked it, as I did all the others. There's quite a noble sacrifice in the book as well as some nice tie-ins with other Redwall history.

Hey, how long should Charles be out?

As long as you like. Depends how soon you want him in the game.
Do we assume that Charles' grandfather will not be seen again or do you have plans to bring him back in later on?

We will never see him again until waaaay later, once Laterose has done some work to find the Noonvale group.

Alright. I'll leave that for you to plan then. For now, I guess the creatures will just have to tell Charles that his grandfather is most likely dead. Was the feather a Doomwyte reference?

No, I think it's a Pearls of Lutra* reference.

Ah, yes. Now I remember. There was that little incident with the birds at St. Ninian's, wasn't there?

Yes, that one was the saddest part of the book.

Yeah. Everyone should read that book. No spoilers now! ;)

Hey, all. I've put a character/player list on the first page of this OOC so could you all check it out and if I've missed anyone then let me know. Also, could you all please tell me your characters' colours and I'll add them to the list.

Cheers.

Announcement:
MrNeonShot is now the backup GM for Redwall so congratulate him... Or else! :P

Do it! >:(

Laterose's color will be FF0040

Thanks. Do you have a character sheet for Laterose yet?
Also, the colour you've written on Vincent's sheet is the one you've got listed there for Laterose and you've got Laterose listed as a nickname for Vincent so I'm a little confused...

Yes, here it is.
MrNeonShot wrote:*le me, bored on the way out of town*
Suddenly, a wild creative streak appears!
I had to write it down and post it before I forgot!

Originally, I was going to post Charles' brother's ref when the time came, but I couldn't stop myself!
Here it is!
Name: Vincent "Laterose" Voh
Color: #FF0040

Age: 18

Specie: Mouse

Neighborhood: Redwall

Appearance: Unlike his brother who has grey fur, Laterose has orange fur, and His eye color is brown. He wears a pair of black pants, and a grey shirt with an embroidered rose on the back. Laterose also wields a longsword that has the shape of a rose carved into the hilt.

Personality: (I wrote a lot of backstory, so I cut it short. Here is the short version.)
Laterose is a quiet person who normally keeps to himself, usually keeping a blank face. But when he is around his little brother, Charles, his face brightens up, and he plays around with him.
When in battle, he speaks only when needed, and when interrogating an enemy, he leaves a blank face and talks more calmly, and the feeling that "every second is your last" arouses in each vermin he speaks to.

Backstory: When Vincent was little, he would walk with his grandfather past the old Marshank battlefield to meet with the shrews. Marshank was always rocky, and it never grew vegetation, and Vincent always remembered that.

On one particular night, going back home, Vincent saw a billow of smoke in the direction of home.
When he got there, there were burnt houses and trashed fountains. Luckily, no one was hurt (thanks to a regiment of long patrol going waaay up north).
But, there were quite a few vermin tied up on the ground.

That night, grandfather argued with father, the chieftain that we needed to teach the village how to fight. But, father said that they never needed to learn how to fight, and that they were peaceable creatures. The argument was dropped, and nothing changed, and the feeling of insecurity grew in the young mouse. With a new brother coming along the way, this place wasn't safe.

So, Vincent and a few friends found the retired long patrol hare and had him train the group.
The small group grew to be a bigger group, which caused the chieftain to forbid them from training in the art of war.
Vincent rebelled, saying that the reason that his ancestor, Laterose of Noonvale, died at Marshank was because there weren't enough people who knew how to fight, and that Noonvale needed protecting.

Thus, the Laterose Patrol was born.

Special:
S: 6
P: 6
E: 8
C: 3
I: 7
A: 9
L: 3
Okay, that was a lot of backstory, but I couldn't stop!
Hope you guys like, because I like this guy.

Laterose won't show up until later, but I want him to be a main character.
Vincent = Laterose

Thats actually a Charlie Brown reference, back in the 1960's.
Charlies was beating himself up verbally, so his friend smacked him and said "Don't talk about Charlie Brown that way!"

Huh?
I was referring to his blade. You always put it on your off side so that you can draw it more easily. Only left-handed people would wear the blade on their right hip.

True, Esper. I was referring to traditions though.

For those not familiar with the books, hares are well-known for being gluttonous and having enormously-large appetites. They also tend to be rather cheerful and boisterous. They also talk like stereotypical British colonels (wot wot).

Ah, I see that it's a sword. I figured it would be more along the lines of a dagger

It's a short sword. And Hulkey told me he puts the sword on that side in all drawings as a reference/homage to Link from Zelda.

If anybody wants a hare as an NPC then go ahead and take one. ;)
I've got the Brigadier though.

The bell tower is actually the highest point in the abbey, just so you all know. ;)

Well, the roof of the bell-tower. :P

Incidentally, the roof of the bell-tower is made from the wood of several ships which is something Charles might be interested to learn.

Charles needs a friend thats about the same age as him ^w^

Also, in Mattimeo, did anyone else notice that Mattimeo is supposed to be 3 seasons (years) younger than Tess Churchmouse? I find it just a little weird that she was the same age as Matti or in the series.

The did lots of strange things in the TV series. For example, John Churchmouse was made out to be Cornflower's father which he's actually most definitely not. The books can be considered cannon because they are but the TV series not so much. ;)
It's good general guide, just don't go to it for specifics. ;)

Even in the books (I think), Tim acted as if he was younger than Mattimeo, which was also weird to me.

And if the plot from the series was canon, Mattimeo would be married to his cousin o.o
