'Until "indefinitely" happens' I wonder what he meant by that (it was probably stated earlier, but I'm drawing a blank on it). And I swear if Daryl keeps eating like that, he'll end up looking like Weird Al from the Fat music video...which would actually be pretty funny.

Maybe if they plug Keene's manna into the thing, they can boost its range to cover all of Babylon Gardens, thus preventing Pete or Dragon from interfering with them.

Wait if all other futures were bad compared to them just sitting in the desert doing nothing forever why in the world would she help them?

A decision has been made.
A choice has been returned.
A game has been well played.
A break has been earned.
The desert beckons for a time
as King decides on forever
until the warning bells do chime,
accompanied by a Gryphon feather.
Daryl's here for comic effect
and to keep paws on the ground.
He knows what they can expect
and that starvation is rarely sound...

A very elegant solution! So now we know why they needed Bruce and Roosevelt, as the best experts on the outback!
Plus, there is the occasion to elaborate adventures in a new scenario.
Plus, DARYL COULD LOSE WEIGHT
Plus, there's the chance of puppies in the desert! :D
MAJOR downside: Sabrina and Fido are separated  Though she, not being an avatar, is not technically bound to the 'quitting' rule, so she could go back to Babylon together with Rock and his crew..provided Rock would miss the chance to shoot a whole adventure series in exclusive with divine special effects!
I'd wonder how Peanut would take these news, but he *does* know how to make the best of any situation. Plus, avatar or not, Tarot is still a telepath and could stay linked with him.
Sure thing above all, with KARISHAD around, things are so going to be UN-boring

So, are there only four strips left before the arc ends? Rick said they would be around 45.

It does look like they will just stay there doing nothing until (Insert rest of plan here.).
valerio wrote:Plus, there's the chance of puppies in the desert! :D
I thought foxes couldn't have offsprings with pomeranians.

It still rather blows really that basically Kings corgi self is now, quite simply an elaborate illusion activated by that watch now. So really hes still Joel. That still kinda saddens me a bit. And honestly while the thought of Bailey and him having puppies, the reality is it can never happen.

At any rate we still have Keenes little manna egg or whatever it is to fulfill a purpose.

Are you SURE his true form is now still Human? What if turning him back to Human, forcing a change on him again, was Pete's parting shot and he now really is the Corgi?

Good idea, Daryl. The last time someone wandered a desert based on the actions of a god... Let's just say they didn't get back anytime soon.

I can't really quote easily on mobile, but I would like to say that Sabrina is an avatar. You'll notice Spirit Dragon was controlling her actions and whatnot. ;3

Also, Pete didn't "turn" King into Joel; the original spell expired. That being a corgi requires Joel keep in constant contact with the watch would seem to indicate corgi is not his standard shape, would it not?

If he lets go of the watch he becomes Joel again. He cannot be King without that watch.

funny, because it was clearly stated that Tarot is the avatar. And unless contrarily stated, there cannot be TWO avatars per player.

Also, sadly, yes for now.

Now there's a strange discussion.

I would say the human form is his base form, but that doesn't mean the other is just an illusion, it seems more like a transformation. So, whether puppies are a possibility or not, we still can't tell.

And I don't get why there's so much fuss over whether he's King or Joel, those are just names; he's always been the same character, just with two forms.

So it's Chekhov's gun? Plausible!
ConvoyWolf wrote:It still rather blows really that basically Kings corgi self is now, quite simply an elaborate illusion activated by that watch now.
You're assuming that it's an illusion and not an actual shape shift? Why?
Dissension wrote:Also, Pete didn't "turn" King into Joel; the original spell expired.
That's what Pete claimed would happen when he appeared at the wedding, but (1) Pete is an unreliable voice (he lies), and (2) the timing is wrong: King wasn't turned back "after the spell ran out". he was turned back after Pete got his power back, and Pete's comment in the last panel implies he was actively turning him back to Joel:

Cause that's where the fight is, and the fight is still technically happening.

Also, great strong words from King. Hopefully spending time in Australia will do some good.

Funnily enough, Daryl has a point. I doubt any of them has good survival instincts, and King being originally human, probably less so. Unless he was resourceful as a kid.

Considering he had to rely on his pets after they kidnapped him and then they abandoned him, I assume he has at least a little bit of survival experience.

Because shape shifting usually (but i suppose not mandatory) requires a transformation sequence where one becomes the other and back. Plus shape shifting is often an ability that the person posesses internally and can activate at whim. In Kings case he needs an exterior source to maintain the apperance of his corgi form. But then again thats just my perception of the situation. Plus its not explained whether hes a corgi on the inside or not.

And sometimes it doesn't, or the transformation is instantaneous. There's no conservation of mass-energy when it comes to the Celestials in Housepets!
Plus shape shifting is often an ability that the person posesses internally and can activate at whim.
And often it isn't. Werewolves, for example, need the light of a full moon. Sailor Moon needs her scepter.
Plus its not explained whether hes a corgi on the inside or not.
They said he had to make a choice. He's done that.

So, if someone destroys the watch, Joel will be spared from a life as a dog and we can all go home?
valerio wrote:that's why you need a couple of kangaroos.
Kangaroos are herbivores, dogs, foxes, wolves, ferrets and cats ain't.

You speak as if you had real life experience on the subject. Most curious!

Looks like King is saying and going to do that seriously, and is also going to stay always as our King. ;) He should really know what he's doing, because, at first sight this seems a weird decision. It's hard survive on a desert, and for what finality? Then, the nature in Australia is known to be very dangerous... Can't blame the other Daryl at all, for this time, when hunger calls... :P You're the same disgraceful, though. :P

So a legal question. If King does have to turn back into Joel permanently, would that mean that King and Bailey's marriage would be annulled by default since it was under false pretenses? (King being a dog when he wasn't)

Only the avatars would be engaged in combat, since this is the duel. Tarot tag-teamed with her apprentice.

Yes. You'll notice Karishad's texting Tarot, not Spirit Dragon.
