Dallas! That's his name, a mistery finally solved.
When Joey shakes his head he looks a lot like Fido. And is Joey dressing like? o.o

Fun fact, I knew what a Gakuran was without needing to Google it.
Also, the Dalmatian now has a name, it's Dallas! Yay for the Wiki!

Also, yay Joey! Is it just me, or does he have this 'scar' thingy over his right eye?

Wait... since when did Joey have that line touching his right eye? :?:
I don't think I've ever noticed it before... maybe I'm just blind!

No-one's creepier than Lester!

Hey, does he reckon all Corgis are wearing 'Ein' costumes from 'Cowboy Bebop'?

Lester's a loser, but not for that reason;
forever dedicated to an insane degree.
Committed to MANGA, no matter the season
and, sometimes, just failing to see.
Not everyone who disagrees is dumb;
Not everyone knows what he'll mean.
Not everyone knows the depths he'll plumb;
Not everyone likes the MANGA scene.
Young Dallas has spotted his weakness;
Lester will never admit compromise.
He can be fooled, by a jacket no less
and rolls everyone's eyes to the skies.

I'm not. :|

This joke went a little over my head until I read some of the other comments here. Just not really into anime/manga. *Gets bricked by hard-core anime fans*
Ok, I've seen "Avatar: The Last Airbender" a couple times through and think it was pretty awesome. *Gets bricked by Lester*

According to Wikipedia it technically is - or at least some sort of mutant hybrid of one. :P

fact
Is that a new mark next to his right eye? Is it part of his costume? It isn't in any of the other strips.

1) I think that's the joke
2) let's not get that debate started :P

Definitely anime inspired, but created by Americans. animated by asian studios.

but technically, in Japan, all cartoons are anime. My Little Pony is called anime there.

It could be either a hint about his cosplay character, or an aftermath of the Battle Of Epic Proportions.
Maybe Peanut reacted, and CCS (Chaotic Clawed Slapping) is pretty dangerous :D

Lester has had a name since 2010 (Movie Night). Dallas is the one that finally has a name. This is also the first time he's been seen at normal detail in the current style. (He appeared in miniature with Joey in "The King And I")

BTW, Rick: Dallas needs to be linked in the comic. Replacing "Joey's creepy friends" should suffice in most cases.

Joey is adorable in this scene! Also if he had his goggles on he could've cosplayed as Tai, Davis or Takato from Digimon. Gotta love Goggleheads. =^^=

Goggles are actually a recurring trait in the Shounen genre, so his options are wider than just Digimon. But really, yeah Digimon would be cool.

Joey's back, Joey's back, Joey's back! :D

It's always nice seeing this group in action.

Quick Question: Is Dallas a Dalmatian?

I recognized Dallas' costume as Sasuke once I saw the blue shirt. I'd have to see the back to confirm my suspicions, though.

But CODE GEASS! Such a good anime!

ha ha seems Lester isn't the great anime expert he think he is :lol:
Also Takashi Kamiyama and Jotaru Kujo?
Exquisite taste (two of my favourites), wonder how long it took to research these names.
That alone is pure gold :mrgreen:

Well, the painted-on scar over his right eye might be a clue as to who he's playing.

I think this is the first time Rick's given Joey's dalmatian friend a name.

Also, Joey is being as cute as ever! :D

Lester, that weeaboo, probably considers that a copout.

Someone draw Ein in Housepets style.

Could just draw King wearing Ein's collar going "What's special about this collar?"

It's really hard to find anime characters who wear Gakurans on Google Image Search, and none of them have scars. :O

I'm only a casual anime viewer, so I've got no clue. Anyone?

Yeah, Tiberius would have been a great name for Trekkie Spottie Doggie.
I think I may know who. After doing a quick search, Joey might be Daigo from Rival Schools

Nice strip and joke. ;) This can prove that many anime characters are just students with their school uniform, and it's so for both the genres (neither I know all those names...). It's not so original... :P Yeah, the eye scar does the difference here, and it gives a double win for Joey, because Lester hasn't recognized the specific character from it. :P Come on, Lester, you're talking about care at the tiny details in order to cosplay a character, and now you're failing from not looking at the only present one? :lol:
Joey is too adorable here! :D Good to know the name of another one of Joey's creepy friends. :)

He must have been throwing out random names. Tai from Digimon never had a jacket like that.
