"What Grinds My Gears" is basically a way of saying "what makes me angry/annoyed". The point of this simple game is to come up with something clever, funny, silly or whatever you want (as long as it is appropriate) and put it at the end of "What Grinds My Gears". I'll start.



What Grinds My Gears: Wind-up Clocks

WGMG: Transmission problems.

WGMG: Webcomics

WGMG: Grinding gears

WGMG: Monkey wrenches

WGMG: People who wrench at monkeys.

WGMG: Friction

WGMG: Skateboards

WGMG: People forgetting to maintain machines.

WGMG: When a computer crashes.

WGMG: When I've rung up a full shopping cart's worth of stuff and the customer can't or won't pay for it, leaving me with a lot of stuff to put back and scrambling to find the manager to cancel the transaction. XP

WGMG: When I know I have to do homework, yet I don't, and eventually I tell myself I will change in the future and I still procrastinate.

WGMG: When I finish cleaning the living room, leave to put the supplies away, come back, and there's this unexplainable MESS everywhere!

WGMG: When I'm clearly low on bags and someone wants a bag for, like, two small items.

WGMG: The programs on my laptop crashing my CPU because I only have 4G RAM.

WGMG: When people pay for a purchase of less than $10 with a $20 bill.

WGMG: When people criticize other people by saying "You need to quit making fun of people! You need to be nice and constructive!" yet they themselves make fun of people or they support or are friends with someone who makes fun of people.

OMD I swear whoever made those signs you linked have so few brain cells a detector would register a MINUS number.

WGMG: When I'm told not to do something by an adult, who is doing the thing that they told me not to do! Even when it's something I'm capable of doing! Hypocrites!

In literature:

- Stories without a plot
- Stories that lack relatable characters or that kill them off without closure
- Excessive vulgarity (do we really need to promote further vulgarity in an already vulgar world? Why not promote decorum and intelligent thought? The world is sorely lacking in those.)
- Irrelevant tangents: Descriptions, dialogue, scenes, etc. that don't play into character or scene/plot development.

WGMG: Being called a "DJ". I'm a producer, not a DJ.

WAGMG: All of my music being referred to as "Techno". I've never even once produced Techno.

WGMG any media, whether audio, television, film, game, theater, or something else entirely, that priorities spectacle over substance.

Yes I get it, your effects are pretty and you can make big explosions. I DON"T CARE. I've seen them so many times that THEY'RE GETTING BORING. I came here for an interesting story.

WGMG: Stocking yogurt in the grocery store I work in. There is always potential for a catyclysmic domino effect of falling yogurt, which has luckily never happened for me.
