From what I've been told goes through a childbirth, yes, Bailey is making human mothers jealous.

I think that it's safe to say that the expression in the six panel on this strip represents the excitement of everyone that's reading this right now.

Burping would be nice, too. Makes a nice story to their soon-to-be-born children. =3

King, honestly - you worry so much that i think you might not know how easy animals have this. Of course human mothers are jealous. :3

*noms his tail in anticipation*

The pups are still coming for now
as Elaine lays down the new law;
Husbands only watch , don't meddle,
no matter what their hidden flaw.
Bailey's pushing with discomfort,
riling hubby right up again,
One thing coming to show now is
that HE'S under the greater strain!
Now we see he's just getting it;
things clearly are not the same.
The thing they all know more than him
is how this affects a canine frame.

The problem with humans is our heads are way out of proportion. Or so I've come to understand.

Okay, King's reaction to Bailey's statement tells me that a woman told you that at sometime in your life. Why do I know that? Because NO man would know THAT feeling. (No, I'm not a woman.)

That depends on your definition of "gross" :lol:

Also dog birth comes with a lot less screaming than human birth owo

You're right, Elaine, but be more soft with the cute corgi. :roll: And you, King, don't be again so worried about your wife's health. ;) Eheh, you've also the time to be sarcastic. :P I said the pups can't wait to born. :D They're labor pains, but your body and your mind are strong, Bailey. ;) Hold on, it's time. :) It's almost done, I can't wait too! :D

I think that Bailey needs a little encouragement to push and deliver her and King's children.

Well, if the pups are going to be here in time for Christmas, Bailey's really going to have to push.

Maybe Bailey's like a lot of human females. She'll give birth in record time.

So when do we see Bailey start to screaming and curse at King for inflicting this pain on her? :P

Technically it's the size of the skull and the bipedal shape of the pelvis that makes childbirth painful for humans. So anthropomorphic dogs would hurt giving birth just like humans, rather than like dogs!

That reminds me, I don't think we've seen newborn pups yet, so no word on skull shape, yet.

I don't know. Bailey's a dog and, unlike humans, dogs, and other animals, tend to accept that it took the both of them to make a baby, even when they are in pain during delivery. Of course, in this universe, it may be different. After all, these animals walk on two legs, talk to their "parents" and perform magic.

Oh boy. I haven't been to the forums despite following this comic since right after it came out. This is probably one of the few comics I'm still following since high school. I love it. However I'm not sure how to feel about these last pages. I somehow don't find the way the vet was portrayed that amusing. He was written to be pretentious when him as any other vet probably cares about the well being of any animal they might come across. In my opinion the way he was forced into the story was very uncreative.
I have mad respect for veterinarians. I myself am in the process of becoming one after a scare with one of my beloved pets that needed emergency care due to a uterus infection after giving birth a few years back. This arc is somewhat hitting close to home to the point it's become my least favorite arc in the whole comic.

I know that it will hurt more for Bailey to give birth. I just said that as a joke based on every single labor scene I've seen in sitcoms and cartoons.
