I can think of a lot of reasons why a seat in a raggedy theater might be moist. A spilled drink is the only one that isn't a problem, and even that's arguable, depending on the kind of drink. A Mountain Dew Code Red stain is a sonofagun to get out.

The previous couple must have had a lot of soda then.
It would be best to move to another seat and make sure it's not moist first.

I'm sure you know what we mean, but if you're serious, we are not 100% sure it's soda. It is possibly a mixture with other certain fluids that are too off-putting to mention.
