And the cuteness from the last comic just wore off, I am legitimately scared for Res. FIGHT RES FIGHT!!!

This feels so... Magneto and Wolverine for some reason. Except the Adamantium is Res's Mana.

And yes, i'm also legitimately worried about Res now.

Did anyone notice how suspicious the Forgotten looked? Like there's some sort of cloth between the Forgotten's jaws covering its throat. I'm starting to think this deity Res is fighting is not who it appears to be.

Res, let go of the bloody thing's throat and start punching already!

It was mentioned around it's first appearance that The Forgotten was bound and gagged, what some thought meant willfully repressed memories.

If I’m completely honest, I’m kinda getting tired of this arc and long it’s been going on. Hopefully it doesn’t do what the police dog arc did and completely break my SOD with a stupid twist about brainwashing.
Seriously, why didn’t Rick just say it was magic?!!?! It would’ve required at most a paragraph of explanation, and would’ve made more a million times more sense than PETA guy brainwashing pets with what are literally the worst possible conditions to try and brainwash someone!! The biggest part of successfully brainwashing someone is isolating them, blocking them off from any means of socializing, controlling what information they have access, and it takes months of dedicated effort. YOU CAN’T ACCOMPLISH ANY OF THAT WHEN THE PERSON YOU’RE TRYING TO BRAINWASH IS ONLY INTERACTING WITH YOU FOR AN HOUR A WEEK, AND GETS TO GO HOME AFTERWARDS!!!!!!!! That twist wasn’t just disappointing, it was downright out of character for Rick. You can usually feel the care he puts into every bit of this comic, but that twist had none of that. It felt like it came from a worse creator, and I’m genuinely wondering if something happened behind the scenes that made it so that Rick didn’t have enough time to properly proofread his story.
I’m spoilering my rant so you don’t have to hear me complain about an arc that ended over a year ago.

Well I hope that he could Stall long enough for the others to think of a way to beat the demon and also stall long enough for breel and keene to get out of hell

With the time differential, every second Res can keep the Forgotten tied up is potentially buying Breel and Keene hours, hours that they may need every bit of. I have a feeling Eudoant is not going to just let them leave.

When The Forgotten was summoned, it said its whole purpose was to annihilate Breel. Why is it sticking around to fight Res?

The black speech bubbles don't have any arrows pointing to The Forgotten, so I'm interpreting that as ultimate ventriloquism or telepathy. Removing the quotation marks in the title text serves the same purpose.
(I do appreciate the Discworld reference though.)

yup feel like the demon that is with breel and keene is going to play a huge part in this arc tho

Maybe the Forgotten and the Demon are two different parts of the same broken whole? Like, the Demon is the Nobody and the Forgotten is the Heartless, to use Kingdom Hearts terminology.

Oh Cod, I believe the Forgotten can actually read minds. Maybe Neel (the lil demon) will save the world when the trio gets on Earth? I mean... He does have acidic saliva, maybe he has some hidden powers.

Res is probably gonna need some first aid once the fight gets finished.

At first glance I thought this strip was just there to show us that Res is still fighting the monster. But I thought more about what the Forgotten was saying, and it preys on Res's fears. "Doubts fill this one, it fears becoming forgotten", Res has been nervous since we are introduced to him, he is constantly doubting himself. That second part of that sentence (it fears becoming forgotten) made me ask "why does Res write?" It's because he wants to be remembered for something, he wants to make a small mark on the world, he doesn't want to be forgotten. In the second panel the Forgotten says, "This one fights hardly at all, it is giving into oblivion." have we ever seen Res fight? He is constantly nervous, plagued by doubt, giving into pressure, and he is terrified. The Forgotten is preying on this, and Res knows it. Maybe I'm reading into it too much, but that's my take on it.

Huh, this is the hardest moment in Res' life. That must really hurt. I would blame Great Kitsune for this! The Forgotten won't easily give up... Right, don't show that. Hold on, Res!

I thought the same thing. From the way they were drawn I assumed they were splashing off his super were-tiger body, but from the title of the comic and "SCHLORP" I would conclude they are penetrating and the stuff is yellow to keep this PG.

He doesn't nescessarilly need to be immortalized for him to not be forgotten, but yeah, you're right.

I don't know as the monster reads minds; I think it's using Psych 101--102 techniques to crack Res because (1) it knows mortals are prone to fear and self-doubt; (2) it feeds off those anxieties; and (3) it may also be trying to infect Res with its own growing terror. Be strong, mates.

I don't think he's really trying to strangle it as much as just trying to get it in a grapple. The Forgotten doesn't appear to have a lot of good hold positions.

Res is a powered-up Were-Tiger right now. Most Weres have incredible regeneration capabilities. As long as the Forgotten isn't using Silver, he should be fine.
