This might just be because of perspective, but to me it looks like the bed is taller then the box it came in.

I think it is, although a bed like that is made of soft material, so it could easily have been folded down in shipping.

My cat thought boxes were the most wonderful adventures ever! Especially Barnes and Noble sizes. He had a small city of them in the shop.

After assembling the cat tree for my three we had to leave the box in the room for a few months as it was immediately adopted as the Fortress of Cattitude by the oldest Cleo Catra.

Eheheh, it's just a typical and cute cat behaviour. Grape couldn't escape it, obviously. It's a weird new choice of her, anyway, since in past she has always slept in a cat bed.
