Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
Dunno. I assume he didn't identify himself to the tree house tenants as "Mr. Stewart" so I just called him "Badger".
Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
Yeah, I assume both him and Camel Milton probably changed names, and considering the joke is the irony of his name, I wouldn’t be surprised if you guessed what Steward’s name will be as a badger

Even if they both didn't change their names, I doubt they would want to take the risk of revealing their real names even if the forest has no clue who they are.

At this point I don't think he would think it's relevant.
Then again, you never know with him.

Still waiting for a bino & bruno romance subplot.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

I’d ship it, he’d probably be a better influence on Bino than Duchess is... don’t know what Bruno would get out of the relationship thoughBuster wrote:Still waiting for a bino & bruno romance subplot.

I don't know about Joey, but for a moment back in the last Temple Crashers, there seemed to be some sparks between Grape and Dallas. Oh, that's right, she wanted him to fetch up Res....
Wonder how Grape would react to Squeak being locked in with Joey? … probably with mustard and relish.

Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
There really wasn't anything between Grallas except that Grape was trying to rub up on who she thought was the muscular Res. That was all it was. Though it would be funny if Grape suddenly found herself attracted to Dallas.
Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
Wonder how Dallas would deal with Grape's infactuation? Comic possibilities there with "Dallape" ("Dallape"...that's kinda ugly sounding, isn't it?).

there is one thing that kind of bothers me,
what about the spirit dragons temple? They could do a new arc about that.
also Rick Griffin should make a housepets visual novel

A "Wonderful Life" type story where King finds out what his life would be like if he never became a dog.

Well Kitsune did say he would end up pretty well off so we at least know that.

Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
That was only because Kitsune would have made it that way. If Kitsune or any of them were never involved in Joel's life who knows what would have happened. I guess he would have been released from prison after a few years, found himself a crappy apartment, gotten some kind of minimal job, and died alone.

Well that's depressing, why would you want to see that?
(Besides, recidivism rates being what they are in the US and Joel being a 2 time felon, statistically it's most likely he'd end up back in the system again)

I’m not saying I want to see it or that is actually what would happen. I’m just saying it would be interesting to see what his life would be like. You know like the movie (even though I’ve never seen it myself).

Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
So Kitsune would show him a life of wealth and comfort but because he never was involved since he wasn't turned into a dog, he wouldn't have it? I guess that does make sense but while Kitsune can be a trickster obviously, I doubt he is cruel. Kitsune probably would have rewritten his whole life so that he DID get money and power.
Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
So heres an interesting idea for an arc
Peanut and co go on a trip to another universe... again. This time though, it seems mildly familiar, as it appears Spot (Superdog) is actually real there and everything Peanut drew happened more or less. It's left ambiguous if Peanut somehow created the world, or if he just got the info the same way Grape found out about Pete, through dreams

It's a compliment! There are a lot of "Not-Spot" fans, I'll grant you, but Fen's giving you a "yeah, sure".
Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
Spot be a lot more tolerable if he wasn’t so inconsequential. He’s not fun to read on his own, the best part of his arcs is the punchline that always comes at the end in the real world, I don’t know why Rick has written multiple arcs for him

Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
I think it is to show off how ambitious and determined Peanut is as an artist.
Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
It would be because Rick and a lot of other people enjoy the Spot arcs. They are Rick's excuse to poke fun at superhero comics. Many people (myself included) enjoy them for their light-hearted fun. And that's really all the reason Rick needs to continue =3
Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
I suppose that’s fair, though I always preferred them in their shorter form. The joke of Spot gets less enjoyable for me when he’s the star of an arc. They are intentionally made to be a bad copy of the comics Peanut enjoys, which I’ll admit I actually enjoy when we get to see people’s reactions to them, but when they are stretched out, I feel it being stretched out. Not knocking anyone who enjoys them, think we all have that one thing that we can’t stand in this webcomic even though we love other aspects

It’s just a general statement about my own writing. I use that kind of plot a lot.Gameb18oy wrote:Is that a compliment or you saying it doesn’t belong here then?fenrirblack wrote:Sounds like something I would write.
Actually that is almost the exact same the plot of my fan fiction story. Two humans from "our" world go to the HPU after reading the comics. Antics ensue. Demons are awakened. Hearts are broken. The usual.

Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
Gameb18oy, how can you complain about Rick Griffin doing Spot arcs when he wants to instead of serving his fans more when we're in the middle of an arc you yourself predicted is going to be "self-aware fan service".
An arc that's fun for me to think about, be we have confirmation that it's never going to happen is a catnip arc (hey, at least we'd get more named cats in BG).

I just don’t like them is why? I’m done complaining about it though so you won’t hear more about that now that it’s out of my systemChampion Wallace wrote:Gameb18oy, how can you complain about Rick Griffin doing Spot arcs when he wants to instead of serving his fans more when we're in the middle of an arc you yourself predicted is going to be "self-aware fan service".

Why does that even matter though? People are allowed to like and dislike different stuff and are free to state their opinions.
Re: Arcs that would never happen, but are fun to think about
Thats what I was trying to say. I went a little too far in getting irritated at some of the comics I like the least, so I was trying to say I'm stopping before I make myself look like a villain. Sorry if I stepped on any toes, wasn't my intention

I’m am curious about WHO actually does like the Spot stories? I dont think I’ve ever seen someone say they like them.
