Housepets!

I know not everyone does this, but whenever I read a book or a comic, it helps to ascribe each character to a specific voice-actor. Really helps me get a better sense of personality.

So, for other people who do this, what kind of voices do you hear?

Just off the top of my head, I can’t help but hear Quentin Flynn as Max, specifically the voice he used for Axel in Kingdom Hearts.

And I’ve always heard Laura Bailey as Grape. Nick Landis as Bino is another big one for me.

There’s a lot more, but those ones are just off the top of my head.

I’ve always thought that Melissa’s Rauch voice fits perfectly with Tarot, especially her high pitch tone she used in the Big Bang Theory

Myself doing silly voices on all the Imaginate spots. XD
And before you say "but Splotchie, you're just a singer, so you don't count", I *have* done just a little bit of voiceover on the side...

I guess for Fiddler/Keys I'd hear something along the lines of Trent Reznor though... for I doubt a cat could sing in a voice that wasn't at least a little harsh.

I don't really use voice-actors when I read the dialogue from characters in the comic when they are talking to each other. Honestly I just tae a look at the character's appearance and then somehow I am able to think up a voice for them.

Also, that's the voice for Bill. Even said as much in an alt text once. I cant unheard that now!

I couldn't give you a proper answer, since whenever I read something with multiple characters, unless it's written in a specific dialect, they all end up sounding like my internal monologue.

I imagine that Fido speaks with a light British accent. (Like, a higher-pitched version of J.A.R.V.I.S.) I don't know why, and it's weird because I don't imagine Bino or Joey speak like that.

I really need to work on my pics for the felines next. XD

I guess I sort of heard Fido as like Gregory Peck

You know I actually could see that actually suiting a voice that Fido has and it would be perfect.

When Fox goes into Blockbuster-Action-Movie-Mode™, his voice very suddenly transitions into Solid Snake

I think that would be a little weird for me to think of but if it works for you then go for it!

I have that same problem. I had to use TVTropes and bounce from one trope a character had to a show that had a character with the same trope.

Hmm, I always imagined mungo as a taika waititi thing. The rock from thor ragnorok or Endgame.

I changed Mungo's voice actor over to the voice actor that played Matrix on ReBoot simply because I can't imagine anime character voices coming out of the mouths of Housepets! characters. XD

Also I decided I'm not gonna bother assigning voice actors since its too complicated.

Aww, I don't think it's supposed to be complicated. Those are the names that just kinda flowed naturally when I thought about it. I'm honestly surprised I don't have anyone for Tom Kenny. Maybe Spo actually . . . I can kinda see that. Or maybe an owner.

It is when the shows you watch don't fit characters. DX

Sure they can, Just imagine they speak whatever language you're watching them in.

No I mean that I can't imagine that anime voice actors would be a part of the voice acting cast at all for some reason.

I just use the voice of characters from whatever show I just previous watched which is for most of the time either Days of our Lives or The Golden Girls.

Grape is Bea arthur? Thats funny ~

Technically I used Estelle Getty as Grape instead. Bea Arthur is Tarot. Herb Edelman (Stan) is Peanut. But I think we can all agree Betty White would be perfect as Sasha.

Now I'm sad. When Betty White dies they will all be gone.

I'm not going to lie to you. I have no idea who that is. But I also am not a movie buff nor am I a huge fan of classic Hollywood which I assume he comes from.

You know, the more I think about it the more I think Maxwell could easily be voiced by Seth Mcfarlane. His mannorisms and over all vibe he's trying to give off fits with the characters he voices.

I guess he could work as someone that can actually play him but you would need to figure out what voice he would use.

Honestly, based on that big toothy grin Max has and how he acts around grape. I think a modified "brian" could work. maybe that but a bit higher pitch.
