as they take things towards the worse;
a feeling easy to extemporize
when you’re relaying it in verse.
Goading your hunter is silly
when he’s intent on slaying you.
Although, of course, it makes things clearer…
Keene’s not the first that’s cut in two.
Sliced down the middle, evil cut;
left to steam in the darkest heck
whilst half forgiven, up above,
without the scope to even check
on their sequestered ‘half brother’
No wonder one wants to slay the other...

Keene should realise by now that every time he tries to understand anything related to magic, he ends up almost dying. It's like the twelfth time or something. I lost count.
Breel is always a win. I am interested by the idea that he's presumably able to think of insults and such (as it was not stated otherwise) but he chooses not to say them due to his fear of hurting other's feelings. I think that's actually kind of sweeter and nicer than just being completely unable to have negative thoughts. Shows he cares about people.
Keene seems used to Breel's antics at this point, and vice versa. I can't imagine what kind of wacky adventures they get up to off screen.

Am I over-noticing or did Breel just get an attack of "eye-blunk-out"? Could we be on the cusp of a "cosmic-one-upsmanship" contest between Breel and his nemesis?

Here they are, Keene and Breel in the sub-basement, still running and hiding from NegaBreel for all this time... Eheh, it's not necessary do such questions about NegaBreel, he's just Breel's negativity, nothing else with being ugly and dumber, which he isn't showing. He's smart and took Keene, instead, just to tease Breel! Huh, I wasn't expecting a such reply at that, Breel, you're not on a social network. It won't fix anything against that dagger on Keene's neck, and neither an insult would... The ones upstairs aren't hearing nothing, as seems.

Also, I'm pretty forgetful, but has the sub-basement ever shown up before?

Uh-oh. Looks like when they the negative parts of Breel were taken out he became unable to even throw any sort of insults let alone fight for his boyfriend. Hope he can step for Keene and try to save him!

The expressions in the last three panels make it.

At this point Keene is probably thinking that he wishes that he could have helped Breel with being a bit meaner and aggressive.

Maybe if Nega actually physically hurts Keene, Breel will snap.

I don't think he CAN. I get the feeling that ONLY the good went to Heaven so only the pure came back. And then Keene went shouting his name in Pandemonium...

Which gave Nega Breel the perfect opportunity to come to Keene and convince him to help him by saying he would help Keene find Breel.

Breel probably COULD have been proficient with weapons in the past but because he has been in Heaven for so long he forgot how to. Plus he probably didn't feel the need to ever do it again.
