That user was definitely a bot seeing as how they only posted once and it was removed. I am starting to get suspicious of EVERY new user.

I've pretty much decided that, until a "new member" enters an actual posting - and I read it! - to treat the new "person" as a bot.

That is actually a very good process to take with new members. Since more often then not, they end up just being bots which end up posting spam.

Glad that we have gotten a new member who is finally not a bot! I was starting to get annoyed with only getting users who were here to spam because they were a bot.

That has gotten mildly annoying, now that you mention it, Amazz. People so do need to get lives. Or maybe a puppy.

If they do decide to get a puppy, let's hope that they put some effort into training it. A lot of people just think everything is gonna be fine but when they have to train it they abandon it or worse throw it in a river after stuffing it in a burlap sack.

I thought I hadn't even made an account, since I didn't log in since 2020, so your welcome message from back then actually helped me realize I did have one. I think the email is down since I couldn't get the confirmation for my new account, or the password reset Email. Yes it does seem like we have been having a massive influx of spammers recently. Hopefully it will be dealt with and we can stop it before it becomes too big of a problem.

Hopefully something will be able to be implemented to keep them all out of the forum. This is why I think we need to have new members introduce themselves here instead of just posting elsewhere first so we know if they are planning to contribute and be part of the forum proper.

It is far too late to introduce a feature like that, this forum is on its' last legs. Someone needs to start archiving all the content here before it gets lost.

I don't think that the forum will end up losing everything if somehow it does end up closing down completely. I am pretty sure when the day comes that the forum is shuttered it will be kept in an archived mode so we have transcripts of everything that happened.

As one of the mods said a long time ago, the activity here ebbs and flows. Right now we are just in a period where there isn't a lot of activity. And that is because the comic hasn't been updated.
