Hi, my name is "ChewyChewy" (like the song). I also chose that name because it brings to mind "Chewie" (as in Chewbacca from Star Wars).

I've only discovered Housepets! this year, through another forum, but am I glad I did!

It even seems I've discovered it at just the right time, when there were enough comics that I didn't have to say, "That's it? I want more!" but not so many that it took me all night to go through them all.

I've always been an animal lover and am only sad that I have no pets of my own. We've had a number of dogs in the past, but what with allergies and all we've had to give them up (though, on the plus side, I suppose that means I've never had to deal with the death of a pet). Our neighbors have cats, too, and we sometimes feed them and play with them.

The comic is so wonderful--on the one hand it looks like something I might do myself (Peanut even reminds me a little bit of a dog character I myself have drawn), and on the other it looks like something I'd LIKE to do myself but don't trust myself to have the talent for....

(Also, although I personally don't like grape jelly the food, or even the color purple or anything grape-flavored, I LOVE the cat character!

)

Anyway, my favorite arc so far is It's a Wonderful Dog's Life, and I love the character of Joel/King--he's so complex and realistic! In addition to which I think the character of Fox is probably the most like me--or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that he's like my "light" side and Grape is like my "dark" side.

Otherwise...I love to draw and write, and while I've gotten compliments on both I don't really trust in my own talents as much as others seem to....

Also, I have Asperger's Syndrome and so I suppose I do kind of act like a pet animal in some ways--like wanting to know when to expect things, even if only in terms of a ballpark figure. It just sets me at my ease--which is another reason I love the comic so much, because I can identify with the characters.

At any rate, it took me a little while to get on, but I'm here, and I look forward to meeting some of you!

Yeah, the name comes from a song that I can NEVER get out of my head when I hear it or even imagine it--but I don't mind because I like it.

That reminds me, I forgot to mention that I am one of the most dramatic people in this forum, often to be humorous, and therefore often lack seriousness in my posting. Case in point:

I absolutely love exploring forests too. I grew up in the country, and spent plenty of time doing so when growing up. But it's harder to get away with blatant trespassing when your grown, so I don't get to do it much these days
