Honestly I prefer "let me think", because just going "hmm" doesn't get the message across when you need to think. Of course, 'hmm' can be used to mean a lot more things than 'let me think', but I'm the one answering this time, aren't I? *giggles*

I'd take the bag of money. To get rid of diamonds, I'd need to find both (a) someone who was interested in buying the diamonds and (b) someone to certify that I wasn't selling fake diamonds and generally handle the sale. I'd also have diamonds on my hands while I waited to find those things. With a bag of money, I'd just have money.

Have to say the knife. Crossbows are probably a lot easier to use as a weapon... but a throwing knife would have every application of a regular knife, so it would be more useful.
