Honestly not sure how much I like this one yet. It's Working and Someone's Missing are outstanding, though.

I saw that image at some music store a few days ago... I only remember it because it's so awsome! I love graphic design, and couldn't help but marvel at it.

I don't know if this is a good place to put this, but I'm in my school's Jazz Choir. We have a pretty good lineup of songs, but I want to know what you guys think:

Man in the Mirror - Michael Jackson
Bridge over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkel
Can you feel the Love Tonight - Elton John
He ain't Heavy, he's my Brother - The Hollies
How Come it is so Hard to be the Way you are - The Real Group
and a medley of songs from the play, "Godspell"

I've been on a binge of less immediate albums lately. This one, I find, shares some qualities with one of my favorite songs ever, "Unfinished Symphony" by Hybrid. Not a very energetic album, but still good.

This is out.
I am waiting for it to be delivered, since I pre-ordered it, but I've already heard most of the songs now. I'm kind of disappointed compared to their old album, but still happy with what they're trying to do.

No idea what the first sentence means
Yea I had written them off a long time ago because I got so much of them in last.fm radio and I didn't like it back then so it became irritating.
Now going back I have no idea why. Maybe the vocals and the way they hit the strings.

Recently, I've got into 'Bat out of Hell' by Meatloaf...I've had the song since december but only just started listening to it.

Also, I listened to Arcade Fire - Rebellion (lies)...it's really good. Don't know why but it's remining me of Stranglers a little bit. Also, didn't know they did Wake up until now.

Ah, so now you see what's happening here
Yes, basically I'm catching up on the "esssential" albums that came out of the indie scene this last decade. I've been needlessly ignoring the scene for the last few years for no good reason. But now I'm giving it a decent chance, with the help of the No Music Discussion section of the SA forums and (not really ashamed to admit) delving through Pitchfork's archives. Of course, I'm not going to buy anything I don't like, so you know I like this album.

I'm a major rock, heavy rock, metal, heavy metal and death metal fan. Love Lamb of God, Slipknot, Disturbed, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, System Of A Down, Slayer, Megadeth, Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe, Korn, Rage Against the Machine, Pink Floyd. And many more, but this was just some of the metal bands I like.

I needed some fresh metal. This fit the bill. I'll say that it will probably end up being one of the best albums I bought this year.

Hoo...rah.... :D I like the lineup.

And as for myseelllfffff.... I'm big into classical stuff. Dvorak's "New World Symphony", Tchaikovsky's "March Slav", Grieg's "Arietta" (and of course, "In the Hall of the Mountain King", Weinberger's "Scwanda the Bagpiper"... That sort of stuff.

But as for more modern music, one of the best songs I've heard has been "Under Pressure" by Queen.

I've been listening to Don't Stop Believin' on and off for like the past hour or so I love this song its one of the few songs I can stand getting stuck in my head. I love classic rock, Jazz (any kind except for Free Jazz), and well pretty much any other kind of music as long as its not Pop music (however there are some exceptions) and Noise Rock and the like really. Edit: felt like I needed to say a little more. Edit 2: I was being a little to general with my hate on Pop music fixed it.

Okay, I'm going to go ahead and say it: that's not hugely appealing to me. The fact that the mash-up of a sample is repeated continuously and the bassline is unchanging is made much more obvious by the fact that's what makes up the entire song. Not including the drum machine. I guess the simplicity of it makes it catchy for a dance floor in one respect, but in the other it makes it the electro house equivalent of elevator music. I guess mostly what I'm wondering is, what's the attraction? I know there have been times that people have liked songs for the exact reasons I dislike them, so . . .

But besides all that, if you like that you'd probably like most modern elecro house, yes/no?

Well, I guess I do have a soft spot for the Crookers
No, I can't justifiably call it good, but I like it anyway, so nyah.

I'll listen to all kinds of genres. From heavy metal to the blues. The only kind of music I really can't stand is rap.
If I want to listen to someone talk about how cool they are, I'll attend an egotist convention.

With that out of the way, I am most fond of the musical artists that focus on a message in their music.
I was fond of Something Corporate for a long while, but they haven't been active in years.
On that note however, the guy does amazing acoustic performances.

It is amazing how many good bands can't do live performances.
Lip syncing anyone? =P

Not every rap artist talks about "how cool they are". Broaden your view on the genre. Check out Immortal Technique or Atmosphere.
