Nice use of tact there, Bill.
I know this is really un-manly to say, but holy wa, those Corgi-Husky mixes are adorable. I might have to see if anyone's selling those around here.

Puppy talk though would be embarassing considering you have your ~ahem~ daughter right next to you. >.>
Also, is it just me, or are the shades of Bill in the last panel drawn to make us read his eye movements? @_@

The question is, will there BE any puppies at all? We haven't seen any such thing except with the wolves.
So, to make sure I got this straight--that's Fox's owner, yes? That's going to make things awkward for King, and I hope that means he's going to 'fess up to him--unless part of the reason King has chosen the way he has is to get out of that....

I'm so glad that this marriage thing is finally coming up again, and that Bailey's dad seems pretty unconcerned in general. It also makes me really happy to see a ferret talking as such an authoritative figure to a grown, beefy man.

Unfortunately, Corgi/Husky crosses are painfully cute, whether puppies or adults.

Unless Pete messed with Joel/King's DNA, it may not be a problem. Is @Silly Zealot wincing yet?

Re: 2013/04/17 - The Important Details
Ever since the introduction of Snow's oncoming family, I began thinking the way it's setup with the comic is that the wolves would be the prime focus for anything regarding pups.ChewyChewy wrote:The question is, will there BE any puppies at all? We haven't seen any such thing except with the wolves.
Also, I'm starting to think it's unlikely, considering it's almost clear that pets have litters in this comic. But then again... would be funny if Rick named every litter in the comic after the owner of the litter much like how Mile's cubs were introuduced. I can see it now : King's pups, Bigglesworth kittens, etc. etc.

Re: 2013/04/17 - The Important Details
First, it's apparent that HPU (Housepets! Universe) pets are bought and sold similarly to what happens in the RW. (real world) Though I'm not sure where exactly Peanut came from, I know Grape/Princess P was purchased from a shelter as a kitten. Bailey's situation changed when the new owners of the farm bought the farm, and then there's Delusional Steve...ntswm2 wrote: I'm not sure it's as benign as all that. Can Bill sell/give them away in a similar way to how puppies are actually sold/given in real life? Actually, that's another question: how do pet purchases occur in the Housepets verse? Do the pets have to consent? I'm guessing not.
So yeah... I feel like Bill's question is pretty legitimate. King probably wouldn't stand for his children (if/when they come) being given away, but if that's the case, then they are asking Bill to give up what he might consider his "right" as a pet owner. I mean Bill doesn't really seem to be the kind of guy who would do that, but he might have trouble with the idea that he can't.
You may have just exposed a plot point... If King doesn't want his pups to be given/sold (that is, if he has the courage to have pups... um... *ahem* moving on...) it may be at that point that Pete gives him an opportunity... Pete promised equal rights between animals and humans. King will probably want the right to do with his children (if that word is appropriate is debatable) what he thinks is best. And even Bailey might want to hold onto her litter... motherly love and all... So it may be that Pete gains not one avatar, but two? (I'm not familiar with D&D, so I don't know if that's against the rules... Dragon will probably think so either way...)
Since Fox and Bailey are cousins (I think) that would make King and Fox cousins-in-law, if such a phrase is correct to use.Cerberusx wrote: ...So King and Fox will be technically brothes or something right? Bet that will make Bino really mad. So no matter what King wins big time!
When making pseudo names, I try to keep it balanced. If the rule is to put the father's breed first, then how about Corsky? (Sounds Russian, but then again, is Bailey a Siberian Husky? It could work. She's got enough white in her eyes, )Render wrote: ...In my opinion the offspring should be named Cusky/Cuskies. As the father is a Corgi and the mother a Husky. Similar with the Liger (father lion, mother tiger) / Tigon (father tiger, mother lion).
Huggi would be great if King yould be the Husky and Bailey the Corgi.

Okay, King and Fox would be brother in laws. Once Bill adopted Bailey she and Fox became siblings, so yeah, in a way, they would be brothers.... I want to know what Fox thinks of this, actually....
Oh Bill, I would hope you would let Bailey and King decide that one.

Video game character who was sort of a tough guy in his games, and I'd say he earned it when he saved the world from aliens who knows how many times. Though his popularity is withering, it seems, and the most recent game, which took I think 10 years to come out, wasn't too well received from what I've read. Only played one of his games on N64, though. Not even sure how many there are total.copper wrote:Who is Duke Nukem?

This isn't the worst "person goes through a metamorphosys, can't change back, settles on new life, and has children" story I've come to face (the worst one I read still torments me). That, however, doesn't mean I'll not try to crash this wedding. Here's the plan:
1) I find, by mere chance, a portal that throws me into the housepets! universe.
2) At the day of the wedding, probably at the Milton Manor coutyard, I'll sneak into the estate and when the guards and wolves try to apprehend me, I'll start hugging and kissing them all over their heads. This should scare them off, am I right? I am right!
3) I reach the courtyard and wait until the part in which the squirrel nun says "if anyone knows any reason for these two to not be togheter..." etc. Then, I will scream "OBJECTION!" and then say: "I'm offensive and I find this human! Besides, you can't marry that lil' guy until you meet his parents. It's the law! Or something...."
4) After that, I'll start throwing fish heads at everyone, which I would have aquired previously on the market, or the Bigglesworths' house.
All this will ruin the party and delay any attempt at marriage for at least six weeks, giving me time to buy yet more fish heads! Great plan, huh? HUH?!

I believe the law on the matter (at least in the real world) is that the owner of the mother is the owner of the puppies and can do with them whatever he sees fit. This includes transferring ownership to the owner of the father, giving them away, seeling them, etc.ntswm2 wrote:...as he sees it, their puppies would be therefore his as well (or his, split with Keene/the Milton Estate).
