Maybe Joel realized that he will be a dog for a long time, and has accepted his fate. As such, he decided to start acting like a dog. His body is a dog, and his mind is in a dog brain, so it would make sense for him to become attracted to female dogs, and much to the hope of some of us shippers, Sasha.

Also, yay Daisy! Yay Sasha! Yay Tarot! Yay King!

Sleet wrote:So, Tarot said "I don't date humans" before even thinking to see "I'm already taken." I guess Tarot is a little scatterbrained, but still that wasn't very thoughtful. I can see King, after he gets over the fact that another pet knows, becoming completely grossed out at himself for hitting on dogs right before being reminded that he "is" human. Awkward...
Thinking on it from a "This is a comic with fictional characters" perspective, she could only say one of those things. And saying she's taken only reveals nothing we don't already know, but in her saying she doesn't date humans would have a much bigger impact on our minds than the more romantic response.

A few things.

1. King looks awesome. Wearing sunglasses...at night.

2. Seeing someone sober up in real life is funny.

3. KING IS A PLAYER!!!!!

Judging from the last panels and the lack of dogs in the background, i'm guessing only King heard her say that.

Now I know who King looks like in those shades--Stitch!

Seriously, though, my guess is this is how he meets Tarot for the first time--I mean, he hasn't called her by her name as he did with Sasha (who we know he knows) and Daisy (who granted has just now told him her name but, who cares? :P ). So he doesn't seem to know Tarot's name yet.

I would assume he took them from some one on the K-9 unit or just anyone else at the party that had sunglasses.

Silly King, he has the worst pick-up lines ever.
And silly Tarot, King is not a human, he was a human.

..... or does she know something we don't , "mmmmmm"
(well of obviously she does being psychic and all)

perhaps he's going to ask if she can undo the spell.

Once again I fall asleep before the comic drops -.-

I just noticed Tarot is really short, I mean like, REALLY short! But then again she is a pomeranian.

I wonder if he will respond to Tarot's response in the next strip or continue on his drunken business until he's sober.

also, when I loaded the page I saw the second panel first and for a split second I thought he was wearing an eyepatch >_<

Tarot is most likely privy to who King is/was, since she's been tracking Pete. King probably has no idea of her powers.

Still, what a killjoy. She could've just said she already has a boyfriend. (Peanut)

(And what the heck IS up with Daisy? Did her owner just not teach her to be more than a parrot?)

Until he's sober? Dude, he's already sober. Trust me, a shock like this can make you easily sober. I just wonder what will happen next. Perhaps he'll try to convince Tarot not to tell anyone, or he will try to find out how she found out about this.
Or perhaps he'll confess to Fox and ask him for help .

What I find more funny is how King tries to be with every female dog at the moment. Perhaps his brain is really turning into a dog's brain, or that just happens when he's drunk?

Nevertheless... this comic made me laugh so loud! It made my day :D!

I figure it that happens Fox will just plain not believe him. In fact, he will probably just assume King is still the Housepets! version of drunk.

Also;
i hope Tarot dint hurt his feelings, he was finally having a good time, and that was a bit below the belt.
I don't think it was meant as a blow, just a general statement. She doesn't even seem to be judging him for trying to get it on with other dogs.

Anyhow, awesome strip. One of my favourites in a long while (Although I seem to think from the other comments that it took me by surprise more than it did anyone else. A lot of you seem to have predicted something like this)

She'd tell him she has a boyfriend, then he'd go around and ask other female dogs to be with him. Too bad there aren't any cats at this party. If they were, he'd be asking Grape, Jinx, Mr. Biggleswort, Sabrina and Keys/Fiddler to be with him >_>.

We have a slow connection at home (my dad has a faster connection via his laptop and blackberry connection but he's at work now) so the comic loaded up from the top down resulting in me getting the text (worb bubbles) before the rest of it...

AND I STILL KNEW IT WAS TAROT THAT DELIVERED THE PUNCH LINE!

This, this is IMHO comedy gold, really good set up and just plain solid delivery. When listing the female dogs I had totally forgotten about Tarot because as far as she goes she is usually only seen in relation to Peanut who wasn't staring in the current arc, hence I forgot about her... until that one line.
Everything I need to know, I learned from webcomics!

2. Did Pete know tarot would be there? What plans would a magical griffin have to where he couldn't let his dog go to party in a pet friendly neighborhood. Its all very fishy.

Well now that I have time to think about this more, this is bad for King. He has made good progress, but those four words have given King "hopes" of being human faster/again. This could drive King to do something VERY DESPERATE and FOOLISH!!!!! And I love the thought of that. Because he might say (yell) to Tarot to turn him human and reveale who he really is. And if the other pets hear him. It will end badly.
