Good draws, Megamaster. Now, do the yawning King, and maybe some of the comic's cats, too.
Alright. I hadn't doubts on this, but I was the same just willing for a direct and clear confirm. I wasn't expect one of that kind, and not knowing that movie and the meaning of that quote, I gave it a wrong interpretation.Kitch wrote:It was a Captain Obvious reply. Of course it's me.

Re: Art Thread
I decided to draw something today. So here's Marth vs Marth. It's Marth from Fire Emblem: Dark Dragon and Sword of Light (8-bit) and Marth from Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem (16-bit). And I couldn't get the colors exactly like the original on 16-bit Marth so it looks weird.

So... school's been keeping me really busy lately. I haven't had much time to visit the forum lately, let alone do some decent personal drawings, but I DID find a way to incorporate the hobby into my studying... figured I'd take a second to share...
I'm glad to see that this thread is still going strong, though! Lots of good stuff, guys... keep it up!

This was the greatest Arting of All Time
But in reality I had FAR too much fun drawing this. Even though it took little to no effort on my part.

I'm trying to get myself back into drawing. Here's what I made so far... (sorry if it's too big)
Teddie from Persona 4...
Inori from Guilty Crown...
And Yukiko from Persona 4.
They're not that great, but hopefully I can get better with practice.

Re: Art Thread
They're a good result so far, ShadowLightning. First and second draws are better, in the third one it's especially the entire limb what must be redrawn. IMO, you're doing the error in drawing directly the final result of the draw, instead to start from guide lines and a simplified sketch. Right the same kind of error that I've always done in drawing, despite my subjects were sort of easier and not living creatures (like landscapes, rustic houses and still life)...
I need to take back into drawing too, got lot of rust for years to take away...
Not bad, Mickey, his right hand needs to get shorter fingers, but also his left one needs work. That's kinda confusing, Texascat, but good work. Cool draw copy there, Kouri.

Yeah, I kind of screwed up with the hand. I hate drawing hands and feet in general to be honest.

proffacional artists usually find hands easier then what you think is easy
usually of course, there are several problomatic diractions to hands
but like
once you get really deep into drawing, the base parts become kinda easy and you realize what's really hard is what you thought was easy xP
if you want to learn how to draw hands, browse 'how to' in youtube, watch and do a few, and then practice with no help
dont do exactly what they did in the vids, you only use those for learning (not copying)

^This is good advise, though I'd argue about professionals finding hands easy. They're very organic and always changing. From male to female and even the age all have to be accounted for.
And since I'm here and not having uploaded anything in a while to this site...Here's a doggy I did a like a month ago, along with a year's reflection from where I've come from. That's the first face I ever drew. Following along with video tutorial on youtube.
As I've said before I don't upload as much as I should. I'm like a quiet student training in the back of a dojo, slowing building form. With that said, there is some wicked good art here.
Mickey: I do love that guy you've made. Keep it up.
ShadowLightning: Great start there with manga. And heck yes you can get better, just need a little form. A few tutorials on youtube will fix that.
hypernovatic: Never commented on DA about those, but they look great. I've never liked drawing small, so that's a good thing you can do that, though I do wish you'd spend $10 bucks on some drawing paper
texascat018: I know who that is =D. It's good practice to do that. Don't know if you know, but that's called drawing using negative spaces. A lot of good artists use that for character design.
Kouri: Good grief man! Are you a copier that learned to use a keyboard?
Megamaster: As always you bring lots to the table
hanDesu: *Cries at how good your anatomy is* Why anatomy why! Why must you elude me =P I always love your work.
Hukley: Your stuff is always good bro. *Fist bumps*

Re: Art Thread
Look out, more drawings.
His head looks a little too big. Also, his spiky hair was really difficult to draw.
Random OC I drew. I was supposed to draw Namine but I screwed up with the hair a little and just went with it.
A random Mary Sue I drew.
Group drawing of a bunch of characters.
I think I got a little better, I still can't draw hands properly though. Opinions?

Re: Art Thread
Yeah man, they look good. If you're talking about the hands from the last pic you've uploaded, I wouldn't worry about it too much since the character you've drawn seems more cartoony than realistic. Cartoons don't need to abide by realism as much as we do =P. As for advise, I'd highly recommend Mark Crilley's videos for both inspiration and getting proper proportion for drawing Manga. Learning a bit of realism for proper anatomy also never hurts. I say this with the up most respect and highest hopes that you continue drawing. I'm serious. I regret not starting sooner when I was younger.ShadowLightning wrote:
