who else here thinks it would be a cool idea if Rick turned Pridelands into a real book?

Re: Pridelands
I would read it. I'm sure Rick has considered it, but keep in mind the guy has a lot of projects and if he intends to ever do this, he probably has more things that are a higher priority.

Of course I would read it. =3
I think Rick could make a spin-off series of Pridelands if he ever wanted to do it in a Spot related way.

Spot is too much camp for long-form writing, I think.

Im sure that Rick has the mind to make it into a long term story though.

Re: Pridelands
but why? Spot already have his own arcs, being the protagonist of them. I see no need to do this since his story will be narrated bit by bit along the Comic's arcs. Well, that's what I thought, and this is how has been so far.

I would love to read it!
It would also be great as a graphic novel too!

Maybe a fan should write the books.
Kinda like what bronies are doing with Daring Do.

That or Rick might decide to at some point. Either way, I support this!Kitch wrote:Maybe a fan should write the books.

Re: Pridelands
Wouldn't that kind of story be somehow more dramatic?, I'd say it'd be fine, but I'd always prefer funnier things such as the comic itself.
Re: Pridelands
If there is enough fan pressure for it...
Re: Pridelands
Not if you mix Pridelands with Housepets live events, but I think the actual Res-styled writing would be interesting.

Re: Pridelands
The idea itself is surely interesting. I think I may would give it a try (but only when there is a character named gapre). But i am more of a fantasy-story reader, so I dunno if I would turn into a fan.
But there is something called the dragon council in Prideland. And dragons are awesome. Hm...

I think that'll be awesome if either a reader of Rick turns Pridelands into an actual book series. I would definitely read them, for they must be good books.Kitch wrote:Maybe a fan should write the books.

Re: Pridelands
I would most certainly write the books if Rick asked. I would keep contact between me and him so that we could share thoughts on where the storyline would go.
I'm planning on becoming an author anyway.

Rick's got too many irons in the fire for something like this. Housepets takes a -lot- of time to do.

Maybe you can write a fanfic for yourself then. I know that it would be great for you to do Shadow. I wanna see more of Parnok anyway. Parnok as Maxwell was cute.

Re: Pridelands
well since one of those irons is writing other works, I'd think he could maybe do short stories from the Pridelands universe. but that would require him not having any other stories he wants to write more, so I understand why he wouldn't. You can't make yourself write something you made as a background element of a an original work when you have so many original works you want to create.Foxstar wrote:Rick's got too many irons in the fire for something like this. Well, since 2014 has come and gone, how's writing going GC?GameCobra wrote:If noone makes one by 2014, I'll take the case!
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

15 months in - 2014 was last year.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

2017 and no one have done anything, so... I kinda have written the book already.Buster wrote:Well, since 2014 has come and gone, how's writing going GC?GameCobra wrote:If noone makes one by 2014, I'll take the case!
Good news: I will finish the first book.
Bad news: It's in spanish because I write better on my mother language.

Ok, so the forum blocked my link due the family unfriendliness of the site where I posted. Fair enough.
