so, what it's too big for the forum? upload it to photobucket or imgur and send me a link.
If there isn't an appropriate thread, PM it.
As long as you still have the original file i don't see the issue here...

Re: Your Current Avatar
Huh. I'm looking at the original image, and I seem to have actually brightened it.
Actually I wanted to use a different image for my avatar, but the file was too big. I'm going to see what I can do about it for the moment. If I can't fix it, I'll put it on photobucket and send you a link.
Edit: Yeah, I don't think that's happening. The reason the file is so big is that it's a scan of a drawing I made in color pencil. There are dozens of different shades of yellows and whites and grays for every half-inch of the image. Until I can redraw it digitally, I don't think I can use it.

Re: Your Current Avatar
Don't forget that forum avatars can't be any bigger than 100x100 pixels.
Also perhaps changing the format can help. I think jpeg is usually a smaller file size than PNG but I could be wrong. The trade off is that it might not display as accurately in a browser as a jpeg but then at 100x100 pixels you won't notice the difference anyway.

You mean in order to upload them to the forum, right? I can still link bigger avatars off-site, or do you mean there is a rule against that?Hlaoroo wrote:Don't forget that forum avatars can't be any bigger than 100x100 pixels.

In order to upload them to the user control panel to use them as an avatar, yes. You can still link to any size you want as far as I know. Pictures will normally resize to avoid stretching the page.

That's actually pretty easy to fix without a redraw. a lot of image editors will have ways of restricting the color pallet. send it here, i'll see what i can do.CyberDragon wrote:Edit: Yeah, I don't think that's happening. The images are both jpeg files, but the one I want to use is too many bytes. I think that's because there are too many different shades of color.
OMG, one thing after another. Now it won't let me copy the URL of the image now that its on photobucket.
Finally... Here's the URL.

WOAH WOAH WOAH! When did my avatar change? I didn't change my avatar! When did that happen?
I mean, its the image I wanted, but it's kind of alarming that my avatar suddenly just changed without me changing it.

Re: Your Current Avatar
If your avatar is linked to an URL instead of being uploaded to the Housepets server then if whatever is on the other end of that url changes your avatar will change too.
GeckoZY used that to prank me a couple of times when I had an avatar that he drew that was hosted on his server.

Re: Your Current Avatar
I have honestly no idea.
Anyway, the new avatar is of a character I created and have been refining for a long time. He's a superhero called the Good Samaritan who can turn into a different superhero called the Dragon Knight. The story is too long and complicated to go into detail here. What is in the avatar is a clip of a drawing I made of the Dragon Knight standing among swirling flames. The full picture is on the Discord Chat.
I'm... not the best artist in the world.

maybe we should startup one of those here, in Games.
Pretty sure 'I Have a Lantern Ring' would beat 'I Have a Mech' if we did though.

My new avatar, I think it was yesterday or this Monday, I don't remember that much, but it's based on how I have my Discord server-list organized in a way that Grape looked like she was riding a tank (the other server's icon) and it quite became an inside meme.

If you're referring to Buster's avatar pics I can answer that.
The lower one is the Bajoran Security Uniform, It's the uniform worn by Kira Nerys on Deep Space 9
The upper one is a late era DS9/Voyager Starfleet Uniform, with what I believe is a Petty Officer rank stud, although I'm not sure.

yeah, DS9 was the only one that actually had something on the collar for the enlisted ranks, if you look closely you can see fabric patches with patterns like (>>>:) (>>:) (>`) or (>.) on a few people. The easiest one to spot is O'Brien.
