Breel: 'This place isn't actually that bad'
Keene: *Looks at the camera like in The Office*
---
Edit: Wait wait wait a second, I just realized, it's not that Breel hasn't suffer. It's that his scars won't show because he's already dead. I think.

Okay. Not that I want to see Breel in pain or distress, but I was kinda expecting him to be a state that would more clearly indicate a need for rescue. Or at least to have more of a reaction to seeing Keene suddenly appear in the window.

He’s walking in the air,
he’s travelling through the endless void
and when he finds Breel’s lair
he might just get real annoyed.
His friend is there,
feeling fair,
when in work,
death’s a perk
he could go all day.
Now you’re square,
get out of there,
quickly fly away…

Maybe Breel is just hiding his pain.

While I do appreciate the irony of Breel being completely unfazed by the concept of working since he's already a dead angel and on top of that has worked whilst in heaven, it is kinda weird that when seeing Keene in Hell floating with some random small demon looking kind of beat up garners NO questions from Breel.leinglo wrote:Okay. Unless of course the obvious thing happened where when Neel found Breel he asked who he was and that lead a conversation where Breel was told Keene was looking for him so he naturally wouldn't be surprised when he showed up a few minutes later and wow I really should have thought about that first before typing this out.

Honestly, I kind of expected this.
Re: 2018/02/28 - I Would Go Most Anywhere
Really? Because I've been spending the buildup to this steeling myself for what Keene might find, convinced Breel's fate must be something truly awful.IceKitsune wrote:Honestly, I kind of expected this.

you’ve only got so long to live, but what’s eternity if you’ve already died?
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.
Re: 2018/02/28 - I Would Go Most Anywhere
Glad he found him
But Breel, not even a word of surprise?? Like "Keene?! What are you doing here?!" ?
Unless Breel knew that Keene was coming to save him?
But who's Neel? You mean Demon?

Yeah, it's possible Breel found out that way ^^CHAOKOCartoons wrote: Unless of course the obvious thing happened where when Neel found Breel he asked who he was and that lead a conversation where Breel was told Keene was looking for him so he naturally wouldn't be surprised when he showed up a few minutes later and wow I really should have thought about that first before typing this out.

How'd they get Eudoant to uncuddle'im?
Re: 2018/02/28 - I Would Go Most Anywhere
Keene weaseled his way out

All right, I see what you did there. And as sung by a famous Welshman to boot... very nice!Welsh Halfwit wrote:He’s walking in the air,

Don't you just love reunions? (Sniff, sniff...small obscure tear and cue the smarmy crescendo!).

And suddenly all my Shayamalan twists collapse.
OK, we haven't technically seen the demon and Breel in the same frame, but... no...
So what happens when Breel finds out about the contract Keene has agreed to?

It's starting to bother me that, despite this being a huge city, we see no other da... er... poor souls
Also, if being dead really does help, what the demons were talking about in regards to Kene was probably how easy he was to break

One thing that's struck me as a bit curious about Neel is that no one apart from Keene seems to notice him. I mean, it's hardly conclusive, but if you look back at the pages, Keene has been the only character to acknowledge their existence, dood.
I mean, it's clear Neel DOES exist, since he got Keene's cap for him. Maybe he's just low profile enough that no one pays attention to him.
I'm definitely interested in seeing what Breel thinks of Keene's little tag-along.

I am, too, Ryusuta. And how Breel reacts to the "contract" because when you're dealing with demons, "there's always a razor blade in the candy dish!"
As to Pandamonians like Eudoant ignoring the little dino-demon, it may just be that small folks like him are sort of like field mice. Just no counts.

If you look at the first strip Eudoant appears in, 'Neel' is hiding behind the door.Ryusuta wrote:One thing that's struck me as a bit curious about Neel is that no one apart from Keene seems to notice him. Keene: ...I gotta find a way to abuse this. Breel! I need you to deliver a bomb!
Breel: Ok!
Breel: Ok!

Maybe Pandemonians just don't think about things they don't think about. Eudoant responds to Keene with " you belong here because your here" and is oblivious or indifferent that Keene is still alive. He's a demon bureaucrat. The little guy, on the other hand, immediately sense that Keene is a terrestrial alien, doesn't belong because he's not dead, and recognizes the opportunity. Youd think that Breel's halo would also send signals to the Infernal authorities and her promptly be returned to Celestial lands.

Good demon, now Keene is free. I hope Eudoant didn't wake up and will sleep for more time. Uhm, what about lick those chains now? Maybe it'll work also with them. Eheh, Breel is always with a good humour. His job is looking less harder than those that Keene did so far. And right, Breel, it's because of that, now I see why.
Maybe they found a replacement, and maybe we'll see that in a next strip.Scruff wrote:How'd they get Eudoant to uncuddle'im?

Cue Breel's paws getting ground off then conveniently regrowing in an instant.

Twist: Breel's made friends with everyone in Hell, is enjoying his work, and might actually apply for a transfer. D:
