Re: Useless Information Thread
considering it's more of a devkit/game hybrid than an actual game, wouldn't that vary depending on what the current mini-game selection is?
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Re: Useless Information Thread
We're getting a new letter in German!
---
It's the upper case ß and will look like this ẞ.
Previously ß was changed into ss when the word is written in caps. This was a problem in identification document and other official documents where the names are usually written in caps. If you saw the name OSSNER you didn't know if the person's name was Ossner or Oßner, in future OẞNER will be written in the documents.
For information, the three different s (s, ss, ß) change the preceding vowel - ss makes it a short sound, ß makes it long, and s is in between.

The original Transformers line was actually an adaptation of two different Japanese toy lines. One was Diaclone, which was the source of characters such as Optimus Prime, Starscream, and Wheeljack, and Micro Change, which was the source of guys like Megatron, Bumblebee, and Soundwave.
Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

I don't call it worthless either, just the information is rather useless - at least for most of you. xDSleet wrote:That's... actually really cool! I wouldn't call that worthless at all!

The richest person to ever live (at least since we could reasonably compare wealth) was Musa I of Mali, who lived around the 14th century and had the equivalent of US$400,000,000,000, making him 4-5 times as rich as Jeff Bezos.

and not a consistent art style between em it seems. look at the eyes, no two are drawn in the same style despite the fact that that should be the easiest part of the face to keep consistent.

How long has it been since they've done anything with them?
EDIT: Point Nemo is the part of the ocean furthest from land. It has over 200 spacecrafts crashed into it, due to being targeted for disposal there for minimum risk of harming people.

This was allegedly the Nintendo DS development kit that Alpha Dream used when making Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. They had no official development kit to use, as Nintendo was still in the process of designing the system.
Source, but it's in Japanese.
Re: Useless Information Thread
Apparently they had only heard that the DS would have two screens and four buttons, so they built that to work with

Re: Useless Information Thread
"Prime Minister of Australia" isn't a real job.
Yeah, you read that right. The role of Prime Minister is never mentioned in the Australian Constitution. That means that technically and legally speaking the job of "Prime Minister of Australia" doesn't exist. We literally only have a Prime Minister by convention because we copied it from England when we became a country.
On a related note, the shortest time anyone served as Prime Minister of Australia was just eight days when Frank Forde, who had been sworn in as Prime Minister after his predecessor died suddenly, lost the subsequent election.

yeah, they wanted to honor a bunch of saints in the name. and the Ruiz y Picasso is his father and mother's last names combined.
like most middle names I figure they intended it to be mostly ignored. though his mom had fun when he got in trouble

(This is useless information, but it might not fall under the category of "Not the Comic". I am unsure.)
I stumbled across the Wikia page for the comic it has some interesting information. I did already know it existed, however.

while human eyes read the two as basicaly one in the same, CCD sensors read Purple (red blue mix) and Violet (Lower end of the spectrum past blue) as two different colors, and can't accurately recreate violet in RGB form.
this leads to some objects that should be "purple" to turn blue in digital photos.

There is a lake with perfectly clean, fresh, safe to drink water in Russia in which there is no life. No fish, no vegetation and no birds live on it. And no one knows why. It's called Lake Pustoye, or Empty Lake if you wanna look it up.

I have my true thread! I have so much useless info!
There was a "War of the Currents" in the 1880's and 90's, in which Thomas Edison's DC current was at odds with other company's AC current. Edison's company kept other companies from using the AC current by making claims that it was dangerous. You can read more on it here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_the_currents

The USS Reliant (NCC-1864) was originally designed with the nacelles above the saucer in the standard starfleet configuration, however during early production Harve Bennett (the producer) was on set for another production, and when the ship design was mailed to him he approved it, upside-down.

The word "eldritch" despite being heavily associated with "old ones" and "unknowable horrors best left unknown," and having the "eld" as in "elderly" has nothing to do with being old. It actually comes from "elf" and "riche" (kingdom), basically fairyland. The eldritch gods do have similar powers with the fair folk, mischievous powers, other dimension, and driving regular folks mad.
