Calling it now, Poncho's going to be the one that saves the day.

Ooh, snap. Poncho just threw some major shade.
You know I always knew Poncho was an underdeveloped character but I never knew the full extent until now. Clearly he’s the passive iceberg type (I couldn’t think of a better way of putting it). We only see the tip but underneath is untapped unknown prowess and ability.
Hang on, those tracks aren’t spaced right. They’re all in a row. Gale needs to learn proper tricking techniques if she wants to try deceit.
Also there is a tiny bit of purple around North Star tail. Happens to me all the time I hate when I forget to color a small part.

Poncho’s showing logic works
even in this situation.
He’s showing he can think
way above his station.
One had to impress her here
and it’s not the young star.
The smartest Wolf does appear
but it really is a low bar.
What will she do now,
if they don’t follow her trap?
Set Pueblo out as bait
and give our boys a slap?
even in this situation.

Well, clearly Jack stayed on Gale's "bad side"....

I just thought of a career for Poncho. He be on one of those outdoors nature survivalist shows on Animal planet or Discovery or Nat Geo Wild. “Wolf vs Wild” or “Poncho’s Planet Discovery” or “Poncho Wolf: Extreme Survival Experience.” Someone get Rock on the phone so we can get the ball rolling.
Plus he already has experience working on “Flip That Den”

I wonder how successful Poncho and North Star were at hunting. Again, where is Gale getting these tools from? At this point there are so few wolfs left Gale might be able to simply have a direct confrontation.
The cape comes with the promotion.

You do recall the bones in her first panel? She probably found some gardeners and archaeologists and... er... scared them off. Yes, that'll do...Champion Wallace wrote:Again, where is Gale getting these tools from?

Dismemberment? Yipes! Don't think she's deterred by Poncho's wariness...

Whether the spacing is accurate or not, she's got some mad trowel skills there.

Re: 2018/08/10 - Trax Trix
That definitely seems to be where this is going. And if that’s true then that means...Miles comment about Poncho meeting a cat actually meant a fierce confrontation where he rescues the others and not a romantic encounter. ForeshadowingSaturn381 wrote:Calling it now, Poncho's going to be the one that saves the day.
You know what that means...it’s time for another installment of “This Way or That Way” . That’s where I create two possible scenarios of where this story is going.
1- I see Poncho and North Star discovering Gale’s plot and venturing to her cave to rescue the others. Poncho fights Gale while North Star comes up with a clever yet comical method of getting the others out of the pit. They all make a mad dash back to camp sometime in the early morning. Miles greets them but they’re not having it. They’re beat up, tired, dirty with matted fur full of leaves and twigs. They tell him they’re ready to acclimate to human society and they want to go home. Without waiting for an answer they just start back to town on their own. Miles beaming with pride turns to a confused King and says “I told you camping was a good idea to teach then a lesson. They’re not cut out for the harshness of the wild.” Lastly we see Gale and Pueblo licking their wounds. Gales shakes her fist to the sky, vowing vengeance against Poncho.
Poncho gets some much needed character development.
2- poncho and North Star discover Gale’s plot and warn Miles. King asks Miles who Gale is so Miles regales him with the backstory of the Wolves confrontation with Gale that led to her scar (and possibly how Jack lost his arm). They head to Gale’s lair where we begin the epic showdown not unlike their fight with Jata. They manage to escape and vow never to return to the wild again. Everyone agrees to acclimate to human society and they go home.

For about three seconds. He's intelligent. He's neither big nor strong. His best...ONLY... hope lies in out thinking her, not fighting her.fenrirblack wrote:...Poncho fights Gale...

Fight might not have have been the best word so how about...Poncho struggles against Gale. Or tussles. Duels. Scuffles.Welsh Halfwit wrote:For about three seconds. He's intelligent. His best bet is to hope she has a Chess set. He's probably played at the Milton house.fenrirblack wrote:Fight might not have have been the best word so how about...Poncho struggles against Gale. Re: 2018/08/10 - Trax Trix
I don't know he looked like he was holding his own. He's the only one who is trying to put up a fight. I never noticed until now but Daryl is hiding under the table and Other Daryl went straight for the cake. I don't know what's going on with Rodney.
Something else I thought of is what if Poncho gave Gale that scar? Because remember he has a giant scar on his chest. They could have tussled before. Could Poncho secretly be able to kick butt?

Re: 2018/08/10 - Trax Trix
Apparently, Jack disappeared, and so, he has been already caught... Eheh, that's a good trick, Gale. But, as wolves, they use to sniff the traces more than just see them with the eyes. Good that Poncho's experience helped and saved you, North Star. I would agree Pueblo, indeed, but maybe his mom is reserving something more to trick them...

I recall a LOT of boss battles where technically you're the one with the severe disadvantage. Don't underestimate people based on their size.Welsh Halfwit wrote:For about three seconds. Re: 2018/08/10 - Trax Trix
As we've seen before, Poncho's not a mental light-weight … and he's got a compatriot with NorthStar. Have they noticed some of the pack's missing? Gale's apparently revising the strategy, but these two may take a bit more that "divide and Konk`em!" Be interesting to see how the trowel fits in. I'm still thinking this all spirals up to a Miles-Gale encounter, but that's almost too obvious.
… King, Bailey, and the pups should be chowin`down by now. Wonder if they brought mustard?

Could also be that Gale's so subtle, she's planning on Poncho to overthink about one kind of trap (following the poorly-printed elk tracks) and, thereby diverted, fall unawares into an unsuspected other trap.... Wicked, girl!
...and the sun is rapidly heading for "below the tree tops." `Bout time for Miles and Lucretia to get concerned and the King-Bailey bunch to go night-night.
