Who would read a Housepets! Anthology?
Something that's been on my mind lately is what would happen if Rick wrote a short story anthology about the characters in the comics? A collection of short stories that goes into the lives and histories of characters thereby giving details that are not seen in the comics.
I'm curious if anyone besides myself would want to read something like that or would you want to just stick with the comics?
Yes? No? Maybe?
Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions? Questions?

I’d be down for that.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

Just my `pinion and only since you asked, Fen, it's six of one, half-a-dozen of the other to me. Think i'd prefer the comics, certainly if the choice was "either-or". I can get narratives in the fan-fics if I want - Rick's art is UNIQUE.

It wasn't an either or question. I couldn't figure out how to phrase the question properly. The question really should have said "Would you read it if it existed in general?" It's existence would not affect the comics at all. Sorry for the confusion.NHWestoN wrote:Just my `pinion and only since you asked, Fen, it's six of one, half-a-dozen of the other to me. No confusion, Fen. I'm the one who chose to interpret (or misinterpret) the proposition as a choice. Sure, I'd read it.

With just as much effort he could just make more comics.

Not if he gets someone to most of the writing. Something Like with “All the Kings Men”
Rick comes up with the plot, characters, setting, and then a ghost writer does the rest. He edits it of course. It could be like a literary anthology where multiple authors contribute. I have a bunch of different types of anthologies that I read and submit stories to. Its been on my mind waiting for the inevitable rejections.

Re: Who would read a Housepets! Anthology?
Given how voraciously I sought out anything Housepets! related after I read through every strip for the first time (still looking for the rest of Housepets Through the Ages), this seems like something I would read (if I had access to it). However, when looking for stuff to read, I draw the line at fan fiction. It looks to me like this would be fan fiction where Rick Griffin edits out everything he doesn't want canon then stamps the rest as official canon. No offense, but in my opinion other people just aren't as good at writing about the Housepets! world as Rick Griffin.
The cape comes with the promotion.

If Rick chose to do so, I'd hope it would be a continuation of the world building story he posted parts of back in the day. stuff that wouldn't fit well in the comic. and I would read it.

... personally wouldn’t be against seeing him either, though more so we can see the nation completely run by cats in the modern era

I'd imagine it would go something like all officials in a government capacity live in the most elaborate cat perches and there is a tax on tuna. XD

... is that second part a reference to that weird part of hetalia (anime where countries are turned into human representation of themselves.) where the countries were represented by cats?Amazee Dayzee wrote:I'd imagine it would go something like all officials in a government capacity live in the most elaborate cat perches and there is a tax on tuna. No because I don't watch Hetalia but if you are saying it is a reference, I guess that it is.
