I should have been clearer and said that if King sees it, that is most likely the conclusion he would jump to.

Also, I feel like I should mention this so that people don't get confused. Olive is 4 in dog years. If she was 4 in human years, she would be 29 and about the same age her father was when he was transformed. In human years, Olive is 4 months.

That theory is improbable because we saw Keene's mother in heaven and she was a ferret with Mr. Milton who transformed himself into one. Surely if Keene's mother knew she was a human she would want to be one again after living in her first life as a ferret and even if she didn't, wouldn't she have told Keene that he was formerly a human?

We have met Keene's mother. Not only was she a ferret (as already noted), she was a ferret in a pet store. Keene was born in a pet store. No Henry Milton/Pete mystical interventions.

Word of God is most pets live about 40 years. So it's 2:1, not 7:1 or whatever.

The only in-world reference to that is Keene's complaint that he doesn't *have* decades to work on equal rights for animals.
