Haha, Soap operas, don't let subcultures wolf's watch them, that'll give 'em the wrong idea.
I'm still want to find out who the Holloways are.

I'm convinced she has, at least, been watching "Look whose talking" at one point. Just be glad she isn't talking about men's heads exploding. X3

If we shouldn't let wolves watch soap operas, it will probably be a bad idea to let them see a Micheal Bay film.

Getting information from shows isn't hard
but believing what you see is.
Compared to 'Bold', 'Restless' and 'Sunset Beach'
real life is truly a right swizz.
No duplicates or murders or turkey basters
unveiled in preposterous plot.
No bed shedding and hopping shenanigans;
you stay with the one you got.
Examining humanity through the spectrum of soap
isn't to see us at our true best.
The only way to see is by giving us enough old rope
and going to put us to the test.

And Micks is late for first again!
Anyway, I hope Lucretia doesn't literally make it shower babies. Don't let the cubs see your stories, who knows what their names will be then!

Man, soap operas are weird. This should be a fun one.
Keep forgetting how short the wolves are in comparison to the humans.

The Holloways are lucky: Lucretia didn't plan the Shower after the "Friends" telefilm!

Wow, life in a soap opera must be terrible - up to 3 year long pregnancies and very unhappy marriages. =P
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

Gee. Lucretia is shorter than I expected. That or that lady is very tall. She's clearly taller than the bigger dogs though. Do we have any pictures of Miles up against humans for comparison? I'll have to go hunting through the archives to find out...

Re: 2015/01/05 - In A Soap Bubble
If the reporter is the strip at Sabrina's and Jata's "wedding" then Miles is actually standing on a person so that's why he looks taller. The lady on the ticket booth is sitting so that doesn't help much. But the others do though. So I guess the wolves aren't as tall as I thought. Go figure. Also, I love that Rick's fans are that dedicated that they know where to find any strip you like so fast. ^^ That's awesome!
If Lucretia is learning everything from soaps then I can understand her confusion. We have some terrible ones over here.

It still surprises me to see how short the wolves really are, it's kinda surreal since they are way taller than most of the other housepets. Heck, Peanut is only a few inches taller than Miles' cubs.

Re: 2015/01/05 - In A Soap Bubble
First off I am deeply sorry for my previous post, I did not realise the images would be so large or that I had included the same one twice.
On the other hand, I would say that we need to take into account that as the comic progresses the characters gain more depth to their illustrations and that over the years rick seems to have made modifications to the size and muscular build of Miles. So let's just focus on his size in the most recent of strips.

Ah soap operas aren't that bad once you get into them. You just have to throw caution to the wind, because a child who was born in 200 might come back in 2010 as an 18 year old.

Re: 2015/01/05 - In A Soap Bubble
Sunset Beach was native to the US, so yes they did get it. Neighbours plays on Hulu as does Coronation Street. Most UK and Australian soaps are on YouTube, which is how I got into Eastenders.
As for the rest The Sullivan Show was syndicated in the late 1980s, we never got Sons and Daughters, The Flying Doctors or Blue Heelers. McAllen's Daughters was released on DVD. Home and Away isn't aired over here either.
UK and Australian soaps are generally more superior than US soaps. We only have 4 left.

Re: 2015/01/05 - In A Soap Bubble
I have no idea. The only soap operas I ever watched were whatever my grandmother watched in the '70s in Sydney. The only TV I watched on my own initiative was Doctor Who, and I gave that up when that appalling clown Baker took over from Pertwee. After I moved to the US I didn't even have a TV until I got married.Welsh Halfwit wrote:You mean the U.S. never got The Sullivans, Sons And Daughters, The Flying Doctors, Blue Heelers, MacLeod's Daughters, Neighbours or Home & Away?Argent wrote:The only one I remember is Number 96.Hlaoroo wrote:If Lucretia is learning everything from soaps then I can understand her confusion. I wonder what one Lucretia watches. The most popular one right now is "The Young and the Restless", followed by "The Bold and the Beautiful", then "General Hospital" and finally "Days of our Lives"
Re: 2015/01/05 - In A Soap Bubble
Does anyone notice Lucretia's tail wag in the last panel? It's so cute.
Re: 2015/01/05 - In A Soap Bubble
You're old and think old, Mrs. McLuhan, trust in her! With an innocent sweet wolf like Lucretia organizing an event, it always turns special in something, just remember of this. It's not something new about how weird soap operas are, you got a point there, old woman. Oh, Lucretia, there's a lot to explain to you, but should be enough say that anything in them is a fiction, pregnancies times included (unbelievable how they fake them too...). The divorcing and remarried thing is more realistic, but dunno if that can happen even during a pregnancy... Fortunately, she seems to haven't watched (and believed to) Beautiful, because a character experienced something surreal there: the resurrection.
Got some more info about this "baby shower". It's kind of you, Lucretia, and can't wait to see Mrs. Holloway's happiness.
