Little Rez thinks it odd
people wear inventive bags upon their head.
It doesn’t show
how it lets flow
the knowledge that comes pouring out instead.
As arguments go on
Rez sees a wonderful, suspiciously placed, sign
he doesn’t know
it means the show
is being put on by one not known to be benign.
Poncho posts a con

They’re going to go
deep down below
and they’ll return swathed in muslin bandages...

I was wondering how exactly Res, Grape and (now) Peanut will get involved in Keene's machinations.
Should we worry about how Keene doesn't appear to tell how lively-actioned this role play truly is? o.o
I also expect Joey and company to show now!EKJC wrote:For some reason I think Joey and his gang will be like the pros on larping war. Can't wait

I get the feeling this isn't going to be as relaxing as Res hopes it will be.

Re: 2017/05/19 - Give Me A Sign
Oh wow, now that I think about it, once the pets figure out what Keene's actual reason for having them go through the temple is this could be even more stessful on Res than just the sheer danger has already caused! The whole reason he doesn't present himself as the author of Pridelands is because people wouldn't take the work of a pet seriously. Having to decide whether or not full equality is something he wants to let happen (mainly considering he's stressed about people being disappointed in his work) could potentially be a major plot point
Re: 2017/05/19 - Give Me A Sign
"You mean the time you ran away and cried"
Um... Is Grape referring to this?
Because after that, she clearly stated that she regretted being inconsiderate toward Peanut during that Imaginate game, and that she never wanted to hurt his feelings, and eventually told him that they were not lovers but they were still best friends in the whole wide world, right?
When she talked to Peanut and comforted him after that Imaginate game, she was very kind and gentle toward him.
And now she refers to that time by saying "the time you ran away and cried"?
That's pretty mean of a best friend to say that (especially since Peanut's crying was due to his crush on her), and it's really not the best way this beautiful arc should have a callback.

well Peanut doesn't seem too broken up about it. it's been years since then, maybe they've had time to discuss it more gently and have reached a point where it's something that can be brought up so nonchalantly.Soerix wrote:That's pretty mean of a best friend to say that (especially since Peanut's crying was due to his crush on her), and it's really not the best way this beautiful arc should have a callback.

Hah! LARPing.
Wonder if Peanut will try stopping Res from being tempted to the Dark side. Probably not :3
So now i'm wondering who is going to be in this arc at this point? I was actually anticipating Grape, Res and the ferrets. Peanut is a must now.

I want to see Jessica going along with Zach and just pwning the temple... but when she gets to the treasure it's all food and housewares.

I have to admit the universe is giving Res a pretty blatant sign. Can't be much more blatant than that really.

This arc is going to have all the laughs

Don't worry, she's probably just getting back at him for that time he told Res her shelter name.Soerix wrote:"You mean the time you ran away and cried"
That's pretty mean of a best friend to say that.
I'm sure they are cool with poking fun at each other and like Brent said, it has been years since the event so they can probably bring it up for whatever reason without trouble.

Re: 2017/05/19 - Give Me A Sign
Grape's default state seems to just be harsh, she doesn't really treat anyone differently until she really needs to, like if a friend is sad. She doesn't really sugar coat anything, and that can be seen in her relationship with Max and her friendship with Peanut. Plus, like the others said, Peanut really doesn't seem very broken up about it anymore, at this point she's just relaying facts back at him. Like it or not, that's just Grape's styleSoerix wrote:When she talked to Peanut and comforted him after that Imaginate game, she was very kind and gentle toward him.

She CAN be really gentle, but it's not something she's going to be throwing around willy nilly.
Re: 2017/05/19 - Give Me A Sign
It's nice see Res at Sandiwch's house knowing how Peanut and Grape have fun with imagination stories. Maybe play it could help you to find an idea, Res. They played also with your Pridelands stories. Yeah, that's a good way to cure anxiety, Peanut, but crying is good to vent yourself. Eheh, Grape, that his imagination wasn't to play. It's impressive what Milton Industries are organizing, participate it!

I literally made an account to say that I am super excited for LARP arc because I am a LARPer who also helps run a LARP.

well with the new advertisement I predict Joey and Squeak. maybe Dallas and Lester too. their genre savviness may prove quite useful, but as a writer Res may be savvy to the same tropes so he could fill that roleGameCobra wrote:So now i'm wondering who is going to be in this arc at this point? Re: 2017/05/19 - Give Me A Sign
Hmm... If I get this right, this 'Live Action LARP' may end up creating a massive Party... But the worrisome part is that Humans maybe included, since the sign never mentioned. How would they react to being in the temple where their very lives are on the line? Humans do react pretty badly when they know their lives are on the line, and only a few actually have cop or military training... Then again, that might be even worst, since they'd know they are in danger from the start.
Not to mention that whoever was the one who Steward was talking to, may also try to take advantage of this event, maybe to sow distrust in the Miltons or gain access to Mana Stone, even both. We know that the mysterious person is not one to play nice, so we may have a pretty big threat to the Housepets! Universe in the wings.
Also, on a lighter note... Am I the only one who heard the Lyrics for Breaking Benjamin's 'Give Me a Sign' when reading the page title?

I don't think Dallas and Lester have ever been featured in a major arc. It would be interesting to see them playing off a larger group.RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:well with the new advertisement I predict Joey and Squeak. maybe Dallas and Lester too. their genre savviness may prove quite useful, but as a writer Res may be savvy to the same tropes so he could fill that roleGameCobra wrote:So now i'm wondering who is going to be in this arc at this point? Ahh, Grape. Dropping into either being 'cruel to be kind' or 'playful torture from an older sibling'...Which makes Peanut's infatuation slightly icky if I start thinking too deep on it...
This is not my best first impression. But my thoughts must leave my brain!
Also Peanut is wrong, anxiety FEEDS on imagination! All the things that could go wrong! All the fans Res could disappoint! It's all happening in Res' BRAIIIIIIIIN!!!! Like it did all of us as teenagers!

Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.
